Need ideas for buffing humans - round 4: Proposal

Post by plasmoid »

Hi all,
I need ideas for buffing the human team.
This is not a thread for discussing whether a buff is appropriate - this a thread to come up with ideas for buffs that a league could use, if said league had already decided that they wanted to do a buff.

Also note that this a thread looking for a buff - not a complete overhaul: Not an overhaul of the team and not a change to the core rules of the game. Cute as those may seem, they've got almost no chance of being accepted by actual leagues.
What I'm looking for is ideas that fit well with the fluff and look sensible and balanced.

Round 3: Poll?
Right, I've made a few executive decisions. But the most popular options are still there.

Right, this is a popular subject, so I might as well post the memorable highlights from a recent thread.

80K blitzer
ST3 catchers
AV8 catchers
0-2 blockers replacing 0-2 catchers

Anything else worth mentioning?

Give catchers Right Stuff and make TTM really easy to do, take Loner off Ogres and make sure they can throw the catchers on a 2+. Oh, oh, oh, and then have some stupidly, ridiculously cheap way of taking all of your opponents rerolls off them!!! Hang on a sec.........

As in Doubleskulls Thread there was the idea of changing the human Catcher and the Costs of the Blitzer.

So Blitzer goes to 80k
And the Catcher to: 7337 Catch, Dodge 80k

to build this team there is a modified teambuilder on his site:

http://ecbbl.doubleskulls.net/team_crea ... race_id=56

Once the Catchers get Block, and the Blitzers Guard, you have a very good Running game. Death on the players can been compensated as the Catchers or Blitzers can been relatively cheap bought at 80k and can then been used in an instant without to much retraining.

And when the League progresses the Humans didn't fall that much back in their Schedule, as you have 4 ST3 Catchers who can still run easily with their Blodge as their first Skill, and take additional Agilityskills.

So I think this is the most valid Idea at the Moment.

This will be the small boost you want but it would make Blitzers even more a no brainer choice.

AV8 Catchers for me.

Are you implying my thoughts could bear repeating?

Or did you forget to type something?

80k blitzers would be enough I reckon.

Depending on how big a buff you wanted, I'd be wary of doing two changes at a time, ST3 catchers and 80k blitzers would be too much imo-especially if both were still 0-4 choices, that would be a big boost I reckon.

AV8 catchers would be a goer though, with/without the 80k blitzers.

G A S skills for blitzers is one of my dream : it allows you to create your own Griff Oberwald. Besides, it combines well with :
plasmoid wrote:0-2 blockers replacing 0-2 catchers
note : introducing 0-2 Runners is another solution here

PS : i'll never repeat this enough : Humans should have some "easy-to-break" players so, no AV 8 on catchers.

I think 80k Blitzers is too much: that's 80% of a player or TRR, or two positional upgrades. How about 80k Blitzers, 130k Ogres and 60k TRRs? That's half the savings, and brings the team more in line with other BB teams (read: Lino+TRR=110k). You could easily make Ogre-team Ogres 130k and it would be fine: it's not like another 40k (+20k over time) would ruin the balance on a team full of Snotlings. On a team without Right Stuff an Ogre is clearly inferior to a Krox or a Snow Troll, so the Ogre price cut makes a lot of contextual sense.
