Grab

Post by Xeterog »

I know you can't use grab on a Blitz Action. I need to prove this to some very hard to convience people that being able to use grab on a blitz is a bug, and not something you should be able to do.

I've pointed out the difference between throwing a block and a Block Action (or a Blitz Action), but they seem to think either the grab description is a typo or that the phrase "Only during a Block Action" means only when blocking (which would include Blitz Actions).

I've even pulled out these threads from TalkBloodBowl (tho only one with an answer from Galak)
viewtopic.php?t=25573&highlight=grab
viewtopic.php?t=23269&highlight=grab (this one has an confirmation by Galakstarscraper, the developer and writer of the LRB5 rules)

If you've shown them the thread where Galak even confirms that your reading is correct, what else do you think anyone else on TBB can do?

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

your links don't work btw
A player with this skill uses his great strength and prowess to grab his
opponent and throw him around. To represent this, only while making a
Block Action, if his block results in a push back he may choose any
empty square adjacent to his opponent to push back his opponent. When
making a Block or Blitz Action,
the fact that it mentions that it only cancels side step when doing a block and a blitz and that the pushing to any square is only mentioned on a block action seems rather clear cut

I'm struggling to not say something rude about americans right now ;]

The rules are pretty clear and the distinction between blocks & Block Actions has been dealt with consistently throughout LRB5. I'd agree this wasn't clear in previous versions but it is now. Maybe recommend they RTFM?

The fact that the Grab action specifically differentiates between Block Actions & Blitz Actions in its own text ought to be a hint.
