Need ideas for buffing humans - round 4: Proposal

Hello.
I like the 0-2 Runners idea and ST3 Catchers most. But others are good too.
It's surely too late, but some other proposals :
Humans are versatile, adaptive, imaginative and are able to accomplish great things collectively. Thus :
- 40k rerolls (--> More inducements)
- Allies : Humans can induce one of any positional from any roster for the match (playing against an elf team ? Let's induce a dark elf assassin, a high elf Catcher or a Nurgle Beast. Playing against bashy creeps ? Let's induce a mummy or a second Ogre)
- extra 50k special cards (2? 3? 4?)
These are only thoughts.

Here are my preference, sorted by order :
A) Price reduction :
80k blitzers
+ 60k catchers (this one seems to have slipped out of your list)
+ 130k Ogre
+ 60 k reroll (for balance)
Option : 0-2 Halfling or a cheaper halfling Champion (oups, I forgot to mention this one on this thread)
Small buff, but let you spare a lot of money when reaching high TV. Furthermore, it's simple and don't change the playstyle of the team : best suited option for this situation
B) Introducing Blockers :
B.1) with Runners (personnal preference)
0-2 Blockers + 0-2 Runners (replacing 0-2 Blitzers and 0-2 Catchers)
Option : 0-2 Halfling or a cheaper halfling Champion
I really like this one, but it's much more complicated, and will change the gameplay of the team (and some guys will never like it)
B.2) with versatile Blitzers
0-2 Blockers + GAS Blitzers
Option : 0-2 Halfling or a cheaper halfling Champion
Same idea, flavorless compared to the previous one, but easier and faster to introduce (since it will be easier to get everyone agree on the Blocker's profile)

Getting re-acquainted with humans, something struck me.
With the current catcher statline, they're a bit of a liability.
Sure, on offense they're cute - without being great(!)
On defense, you're unlikely to be able to bench them all, on those that are on the pitch get targeted repeatedly by the opposition.
So, I like the AV8 suggestion.
But if one wanted to leave their statline alone, then IMO 0-4 is overkill.
You need 2 on offense, and probably none on defense.
Perhaps the human team would be better off with:
0-2 catchers and 0-6 blitzers?
Not really adding this to the list, just thinking out loud

I would redo the entire list as follows:
Flings: Fun, while not being overpowered & means the TTM of the ogre is not completely redundant.
0-2 catchers would mean only 6 players with block or dodge & stat increases to begin with, in line with all the elves going 4x blitzer+2x catchertype or 2x blitzer 4x catchertype.
80k blitzers, because the orc blitzers are 80k as well.
130k ogre, ogres were 120k in lrb4, they got increased to 140k while the troll only got to 110k.. No reason for such a high increase.
60k rerolls, for the 7 players with pricecuts..
I don't think any single change would "fix" the list on its own.
House-Humans:
0-16 Linemen 50,000 6 3 3 8 None G ASP
0-2 Halflings 30,000 5 2 3 6 Dodge, Stunty, Right Stuff, A GSP
0-2 Catchers 80,000 7 3 3 7 Catch, Dodge GA SP
0-2 Throwers 70,000 6 3 3 8 Sure Hands, Pass GP AS

But I like the simplicity of the double price cuts.
And I like how it would help the ogre team too.
Then again, I also love the symmetry of the AV8 catchers. Then all human teams would be AV7 players + 1 basic skill. For Humans, that skill would just happen to be AV+.

Agreed. Humans really arn't that bad and a +1 AV to the catcher is a minor addition that fits.plasmoid wrote:Ditto.
