Hi Greyknight,
>Have you guys got any idea what the WDs do in WFB?

Yeah, and I expect someone in here shortly to complain why they don't have side step and hypnotic gaze too.
But the line must be drawn somewhere.

BTW - looking at the suggestions that made the original list, I think nobody suggested snipping both dodge and leap. And there has been suggestions to replace dodge with fend or jump-up.

Cheers
Martin

A few thoughts:

i don't play as wood elves but like playing against them.
The treeman is pretty neutral in terms of overall team ability. Teams without aren't really weaker than teams with. Removing him will lose fluff, but won't mean much as a nerf.

I like wardancers. IMO they are supposed to be awesome, and their unique skill set does this. Removing block takes the war out of the dancer, removing dodge or leap really hits their mobility and character. poor idea imo. Acceptable changes imo would be MA7 or a price hike.

what about 60k re-rolls? i'm sure woodies wouldn't practice blocking that much so it could fit.

Hi Stormmaster,

Personally I'm not much for messing with the prices. The starting roster is already slim. Bumping prices would make it even more of 2 wardancers, 11 linemen. While that may still be plenty powerful, IMO it's too much of a hit or miss proposition. The wardancers rule all, but if they get smacked you're dead in the water.

Probably balanced, but not all that enjoyable.

As for the wardancer, I can see 8347 block, leap, fend retaining a lot of their character.
It would make wardancers less insane on starting/tournament teams, where blodgers win games.
I bet they'd all take dodge as their first skill, which puts them 1 step behind on the progression curve, meaning it will take a bit longer before they have strip ball.
Works like a charm for me.

Oh - agree on the tree :D
Cheers

Right - again this is me interpreting the numbers:
1. Tweaking the wardancer. (I'm combing the 2 wardancer options here): Whether dodge or block needs to be replaced is a tie at this point.
2. Nix the treeman.

Cheers

My favorites
1: Remove the treeman
2: Only 0-2 catchers
3: Wardancers lose Dodge, 110k
4: Wardancers lose Dodge, gain Fend, 120k

I think WFB Wardancers need MA8, Block and Leap. Trading Dodge for Fend will make WD progression more predictable, no?

Hi all,

Just adding a small voice against removing the treemen. It'll change nothing.

I'm for removing Dodge to WDs (I'm not sure I want to see WDs with wrestle/dodge...)

I also think Plasmoids WDs with 7347 Block, Leap, Fend 110K would be fun.

Cheers!

I think the lesser of evils would be a fend wardanceer then. It seems the wardancer is the real problem requiring a nerf, so that's where the tweak should be. -Ma would do for me though.

What is the point of removing the treeman? It won't nerf the team at all.

Which begs the question: What is the point in not, not removing the treeman...?

Darkson, we don't always get to agree.... This time we do!

(of course, instead of just nerfing WEs, we could NEUTER them....)

Really? You don't see the advantage of a ST6 AV10 on the LOS instead of a ST3 AV7 player? If a lino (or more) has to be put on the LOS, they'll take more injuries, meaning fewrer skilled players in the long run.

Agreed. And not only to the player in question, but also to his 2 LOS mates!
My only concern is that many Welf teams don't employ the tree early on, so the nerf will not start to take effect until the teams power has waned considerably. I think :?:

It would make a big difference at 1.1M.
