+ST +AG on WE, what next?

Post by pulp »

I know that block makes her a lot safer to use, but leap gives her a big potential on the field at the cost of the safty that block would give.

So what should i pick next?

Block does double-duty both blocking and being blocked. Leap is great, but not at the expense of Block, IMO. WE's are very popular targets. :)

The only competition with Block is Juggernaut here (on a doubles roll). And because of it's defensive value, I'd prioritize Block. Side Step is also interesting, but you need to focus.

The only exceptions would be +STR, I'd go with 5 STR over block, even with the third advance.

Must be Block, followed by Leap, then Tackle. Sickening ... This player will drive your opponents mad. But beware. One coach will eventually get fed-up with here and will spend the whole game just trying to kill her ...

I'm with all in saying that WEs, +ST players, +AG players and players with 3 improvements all need Block so take Block, but I'm almost unsure here. ST4/Dodge is very easy to protect. Big Guys only have 11 perms to knock her down on a straight-up block and can't afford to give her an assist. Moreover, Block is not very helpful when getting hit by those guys, as there are only 3 perms for a both-down if they lack Block, and if they have Juggy it's a push anyway.

So I say Block probably. But Leap if you have at least 3 TRRs and at least three or four of the following are true:

1) You have a short format or upcoming tournament or other big game, or are facing elimination. Fewer games or a need to win now favor Leap.
2) You don't face much ST4 (Big Guys don't change equation unless they already have Block; it's +ST and G access that you need worry about).
3) Your other WE doesn't have Leap, or does but you don't have more than 1x Guard.
4) You have 4+ TRRs.
5) You favor risky play.
6) You have an Apothecary and at least 13 players.
7) You don't face a lot of Dwarf-types or SF/SS-happy coaches.

Ooh... I wish I were in your league, just so I could kill that little Elf... If I were you I'd watch out, I'm sure someone in your league feels the way I do. If I knew I was up against that, I might even dish out the dough for a star player with stab... :D

Wow, Mighty Blow! OK, you have now officially made this a high risk, high reward piece. Next is Leap!

Two games where I spend most if not all my re-rolles on her and 17 spp later i rolled doppel 3 for her skill up and I managed to take block although my inner daemon howled for pile on.
But now it is clear for me that i should have picked block last time.

Any proposal for her fifth and sixth star player roll?(if she lives that long:o)

I have been thinking of leap and tackle

There should be a heinously HUGE bounty on that dirty yellow fairy's head!!!! I'd play 16 turns of "hunt the elf" just to block/push/foul that abomination into a zombie!

Having said that... take Stand Firm on a doubles....
