Biggest problem with gobbos is running out of players/having to use the SWs for just a couple of turns when your opo has knocked your team about.
Most gobbo squads won't have 16 players as it's best to have a spare space/2 for a star or two. This means that even with just 2 SWs, you're effectively playing with a quad of 12 once they have been sent off, gobbos are squishy, so they won't have 12 for long.
A couple of harder players would help with that (extra troll/squigs) as would a means of cheating and thus winning the toss-cheaty and gobbo like (so you get the first turn and can use your SWs) or a means of having more players available-Stars don't count as the 16/SWs can come back on without their SWs (gobbos get sent off, change kits, dump their SWs and run back on again, suitably sneaky imo).
To me gobbos are all about unreliable, risky but maybe high reward plays, so I reckon a 4+ leap on the squig is fine. If they have a 3+ (rerollable) leap into a cage and then one or two 2d blocks on the ball carrier, I think that would be too good...
I like the idea of the squigs having mutations/G on doubles and G/A access on normal rolls. Claw isn't 100% necessary imo, neither is leap. No hands, Wild Animal and frenzy are the "core" skills, but I wouldn't be too worried if they had both claw and leap too, fluff wise, they should probably have loner too. They'd be cheap but unreliable.

0-1 Giant
5/6/1/10 Always Hungry, Break Tackle, Mighty Blow, Stand Firm, Throw Teammate, Unstable S/GAP 180k (I figure he's worth more than that, but should come with a discount for being horribly expensive).
Unstable (Extraordinary): After declaring action, roll 1d6, add +1 for each player in your TZ, friend or foe. On a natural 1, or on a 1-3 after modifiers, fall over and end turn. Each player in your TZ must roll AG or fall down too. Roll AV for everyone who is knocked down this way, friend or foe.
Edit: changed "2d6" to "1d6" (typo), noted "friend or foe."

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

Matt...
... that is freakin' AWESOME!
But put Really Stupid on him...
Imagine the poor gobbo that's told to give the Giant directions!!!!

First roll... he might just do nothing....
Second roll... oh, NOES!!!
What a great Gobbo piece!

If you give him Really Stupid, maybe reduce his price to 160k....

RS/Bonehead, 180k then. A failed RS test is just like a failed BH test, lowering the complexity. You could even up the price: AV10 is a little better than Regen, MA4 is a little better than MA5+BH, so if that all cancels out then +ST, Break Tackle, Stand Firm and a small discount +110k ... yeah, 180k.
A lot less fun, though. You could make them MA2 and give them Sprint and Sure Feet... but that's a ton of description and still not as much fun.

Right. 44 votes are in.
So far the top 3 is:
1. Squigs. I'll set up a thread/poll to settle the specifics. Probably this weekend.
2. Loner off the trolls
3. 1 free Dirty Trick (50K) card per game.
Those 3 cover 71% of the votes.
Thanks
Martin

Right, final one of the 4 after-discussions.
So, what should squigs look like?
I read through the 4 pages of discussion, and these are the issues:
1. Negaskill
Since loner is coming off the trolls in this poll, I don't think loner should go on squigs either. But there are other options:
a) Bloodlust. Yes, it would require a rewrite, but chewing on gobbos could be cool.
b) Very stupid. Easy way to show that the squigs need goblin "herders".
c) Wild Animal. They sure are crazy - but it will make it hard to use 2. Which might be fine.
d) Very stupid + wild animal. Rough, but will allow for a better statline.
2. Bash?
Should they come with a bashy skill?
Or should they come with access to S?
Previous discussion established that they shouldn't have both.
If a bashy skill is the thing, then what fits? Mighty Blow, Piling On, Claw?
3. Leapy?
Yes, but how leapy? Is A access enough?
Or should they start with Leap?
VVL on top of that?
And if they're that good leapers, should they be ST3?
No Hands and Frenzy is probably the only common denominator between all previous sggestions.
Let me hear what you think!
Personally, I'm thinking something like this:
0-2 Squigs 90K?? 5438 Bloodlust, No Hands, Frenzy, Leap - AS
I like to have it not overdescribed. It can develop bash as well as mobility. But it can leap into a cage on a 4+ which is fine when the hit you deliver is ST4.
Cheers
Martin

I think the squig you posted is fine, but with Wild Animal. The removal from the pitch if you fail to bite doesn't do it for me with Bloodlust.
5 4 3 8 Wild Animal, Leap, Frenzy, No Hands AS/GP
The question is, does the piece need VLL and/or Very Stupid as well? Probably not. I wonder if A access is necessary though? I think S access only might be OK...
But I'd test the above. With no Loner on the trolls, this might move gobbos to the bottom end of Tier 1.5. I'm fine by that.

Well, I tried to convert FUMBBL's squig herders to LRB5 for our club friendly games and came up with:
Squigs 70,000gp 5 4 4 7 No Hands, Blood Lust*, Really Stupid*, Claws, Leap, Sprint S/GA
* roll Really Stupid before Blood Lust
I've only played the one game (lost 3-1 to orcs which seems about right) and the squigs were certainly not overpowered.
I'll certainly be interested in "proper" LRB 5 stats - especially if not quite so self-destructive!

Hi Jural and SillySod,
SillySod - since I'll be suggesting 2 buffs, I'll shoot for the 4+ leap version. I don't want to overload the team.
Jural - I agree that the statline looks full, andI'm shooting for simple solutions. So I'll forego the VVL, and as you suggested, I'll go with Wild Animal over Bloodlust.
Cheers
