What would make a good prize
Just out of interest, what would you like to win as the top prize. If it isn't on the list please post it.

I guess you can figure out what I voted.
Giving away large prizes to the winner will make it more competative. I've that is your goal, then a painted team or even cash is the way to go.
But if you want it nice, easy and nobody cares to win or lose a good handshake is all they would need.
Give away random prizes. Then players who always attend but never when get something as well.
Again, that's my opinion. I don't think it's shared by to many others.

On the other hand, can you imagine the face of the winner of a tournament seeing the prize go to somebody else? I can.bjorn9486 wrote:As long as it was known up front, I would be fine with random people winning random prizes.Draco wrote:Give away random prizes. This is only out of interest, when you hear about what tourney gave out and what one didn't it makes you wonder where the line COULD be drawn.
Don't worry all the prizes for the CC are sorted, i think the best one is that last place gets a ticket for next years tourney.
It is just a straw poll to see what people would think is a ok prize for a main prize.
Anyway everyone that comes to the CC will get a harty handshake, so they are all winners.

That would be quite entertaining.Draco wrote:On the other hand, can you imagine the face of the winner of a tournament seeing the prize go to somebody else? I can.

The only reason I would want to know up front is because if you spring that about the prizes, what else arn't you telling us?(It goes along with my controlling personality quite nicely.

I like trophy or a painted figure (perferbly on a plinth), so I haven't voted.
I'm still dead-chuffed with my Best Stunty trophy from PK&Q a few years ago, and the ACC trophy I got for winning still gets regular use as a reroll counter at tourneys and league nights.
And then there's the Spiky club.

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

Minor spot prizes throughout are great - e.g. base rings, single figs, unusual figs, donated prizes... works really well at AlbaBowl (first sucessful 3 dice against was hotly competed for (lol))
Trophy for the winner is always nice I think

Once again Mo's Marauders clear the field. Can anyone stop them? This reporter doesn't think so!

rather have a cheaper entry price
painted teams or something may be better off done as a raffle or something
the winner will usually get a NAF winners trophy anyway so if it is a non NAF tournament something perhaps to represent that
otherwise I don't really care much for most the stuff that gets given out at tournaments
I got a zillion dice, tshirts, ugly minis etc that I don't use already ;]
ltd edition minis are nice to have though only if its a nice sculpt imo and most that I have seen aren't
tokens and things that could be used for turn/reroll/score markers in a team theme are pretty nice though, the dutch open cheese set springs to mind and the 4 replica trophy pack from games workshop
giving out prizes for 3 dice against blocks is also silly, people moan about players who try and lose on purpose, don't see why we should be encouraging that

What would I like to win ideally? - a painted team and £10,000 prize money. On the other hand I dont go to tournaments based on the prizes... a small prize and the feeling of having got one over Metagoo is plenty for me. Tournament specific prizes are better too, perhaps the carrot crunch could give away Wallace and Gromit style golden carrots to the winner each year.
A small trophy or cup and a hearty handshake
