Played my ususal tuesday night game. My Humans v his Orcs. Last week we played leg one of this and I lost 2-0 with two casualties and lots of knocked out people.
THIS week I beat him 2 nil and injured 2 (+ he had a foul send off and his Black Orc blocker injured himself) Just by making sure I blocked with the blitzers, maximised my support and did things in the right order. Got 3 players skill up. catcher got dodge (it was a double but I thought safety first) and thrower got accurate (again on a double but again I thought of his role. More accurate passes= more SPP's) Not done my Blitzer yet but thinking Guard or Dodge if I get a double. thoughts?

Congratz on the win! One question: your human catchers start with the dodge skill, you probably ment to write block there, no?
With a passing play, accurate on your thrower is a very good choice.
Not knowing how the rest of your team has been developed, I would say Guard as a first choice on your blitzer, Doubles should be dodge. In case you have some guard on other players, you might want to consider frenzy on a blitzer. Helps getting opposing catchers down and makes your opponent think twice about running along the sidelines.
Yes I meant block. Seemed a shame to waste the two doubles but hey thats life. I was thinking Guard too. this was the teams second third game and first set of skill ups. As I said its tough when you don't score. At the moment I have 3 blitzers 2 throwers 2 catchers and 5 linesmen. We also play with star players cos my mate insisted so I have Griff Oberwald priced at the 3rd edition costs. I wanted to play new rules but what could I do. Compromise is key.
Check out this thread too, it gives the risks of some actions, with re-rolls factored in. This doesn't help you prioritize actions, but some people are surprised to understand just how risky a two die block is.
For humans, turning down doubles on a catcher and thrower is a good choice. I would consider Nerves of Steel on a catcher, or Guard, but your choice is a good one. For a thrower, there really aren't great doubles choices aside from Dodge, in my opinion.
Thrower could have taken strong arm - depending on the length of the league.
It's not as good as accurate right now, but if he reaches 16 he'll become a truly great thrower.
Cheers

Thanks guys. His black ork hit a linesman and rolled both down. He just knocked me on my back I broke armour and got a casualty. I will try and claim the points for one of my linesmen next time. He will love that. Find salt, find wound, apply first to second
