Just a WIP report today: Decided to put the "remaining members of the Goff Rockers (resurrected as zombies)" behind the knockout portion of the dugout (Ref: The Box, above), but hated just lining them up flat on the "ground"/board.... Dug through my copius "stuff" and found a hydro-stone gallows that just does fit the space....

The "Rockers" look freakin' awesome playing The Gallows! Maybe that's what I'll call the sports bar: The Gallows... then we can have Gallows Humor Open Spike Night! 8)

Wonder what kind of jokes the various celebrities of Blood Bowl would tell...?

I finally have a camera coming in by mail... should start taking photos by end of next week!

The Box will have to be a priority

Finished "Slash" (Goff Rocker) last night and added him to the Gallows stage....

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

Alright! Everyone give SUPER-KUDOS to Lahatiel for making me a sweet deal on an old digital camera!

I took my first two pics today and accidentally triggered the flash on the second one... but, in retrospect, the color came out truer to reality....

Introducing... "The Box"

Image

Image

I have to run watch a match... so only have these two up at the moment.... Both images show The Box closed and (as soon as I mate a handle to the top) ready for transport! First pic is frontal, and second a bit more front-aerial, showing the hinge arrangements....

More to come soon!

It took a few turns of accepting Double Downs as payment (like I owe anything!), but Nuffle blessed my dice mightily on Father's Day.... I entered an Undead team (the newly resurrected Dead Reckoning) at 1 million vs an Aahz team of humans at the same....

As noted, the first few turns on EACH side ended on double downs w/o either side having block.... Of course my first block of my first turn was Double Skulls... yes, Nuffle would ask for tribute first and foremost.... Nevertheless, I hung in tough and managed to bash back and forth till I had five of his in the KO vs one of mine (it would have to be a Mummy).... Gory Rory (ghoul), with help, for the TD at the half....

Weirdest part of the half: a human blitzer trips and dies on a dodge... rises up and joins the other side! :D

I'm up 1-0 in the second half and receiving.... I set up with a wide hole in the middle of the line, avoiding his Ogre... both sides with heavier coverage.... Facing his Ogre, two squares away, is Giggler the Ghoul... :blue:

The kick pooches heavily and comes down into a freaked and nervous Giggler's hands.... He makes the catch and runs like the furies are after him.... Down the sidelines and halfway home, Giggler gets knocked down... but blitzes from the ground so that Rancid (third ghoul) can make the recovery and score the second TD! I get my Mummy back and kick to him.... He picks up the ball and runs all out with catchers deep.... I get them tagged, but he blitzes off one defender and, on turn seven, rifles a long pass for a completion and TD!

2-1 and something bizarre is brewing: A fight breaks out in the stands and quickly spills onto the field... RIOT! Paddy wagons and post-game hype for everyone as the referee calls it a game!!!!

The weirdness kept coming... as the dead blitzer was awarded the Human AND Undead MVPs! :o Then rolled double 1s for skill choice.... :o :o
Wow... a gift zombie with a valuable skill! Totally unexpected and happily received....

Only one casualty on our side, yet the breaks and KOs kept coming in spades and the Humies never had much of a chance.... I congratulated my ol' mentor and we both pondered as to why he seemingly never wins against me with Humans....

Nice report. However...

MVPs are rolled based on the contents of your roster, during the Post-Match Sequence step 1 (p29). Zombies are added to your roster during Update Team Roster step 2 (substep 5) (pp 17 and 29). So it was not eligible to win the Undead MVP, only the Human one.

Nope:

P17 or the rulebook
If a player on the opposing team with Strength 4 or
less that does not have Regeneration or Stunty is killed during
the match (after Apothecary attempt if any) then the team may
immediately place a new Zombie player in the Reserves box of
their dugout (this may cause a team to have more than 16
players for the remainder of the match).
and

P26 of the rulebook
Most Valuable Player (MVP): One randomly selected player
from each team who was eligible to play during this match, even
if they are now dead, is awarded a Most Valuable Player award
at the end of the match.
The Human cum Zombie played the second half for me....

I'll fix it if I have to... no huge deal... but even after researching and reading Ian's explanation... the logic isn't conclusively supported by the rules.... Citing that the newly raised zombie is not "on the roster till blah, blah" is male chicken-screwy as he's in the reserves and then on the field (at least in this game).... Isn't on the roster seems to be for accounting purposes of Spiralling Expenses....

Hmmmmm.... :-?

You don't have to change it, it's a perfectly reasonable house rule, but the rules are fairly clear. Here's the three paragraphs, in order:

p17:
The Necromancer is free to the team and allows the team once per a match to ‘Raise the Dead’. If a player on the opposing team with Strength 4 or less that does not have Regeneration or Stunty is killed during the match (after Apothecary attempt if any) then the team may immediately place a new Zombie player in the Reserves box of their dugout (this may cause a team to have more than 16 players for the remainder of the match). During Step 5 of Updating Your Team Roster (see page 29), you may add this player to your roster for free ...<snip>

p29:
1. Improvement Rolls
In league matches it is possible for players to earn Star Player points which may give them Improvement rolls at the end of the match. This phase is used by each coach to allocate MVPs, update the Star Player points the players in their team have earned, and make any Improvement rolls for the players in their team.

2. Update Team Roster
...<snip>...
5. Each coach must decide if they wish to spend any gold in the team treasury to buy new players ..<snip>..

IMO, it's clear that "1. Improvement Rolls" happens before "2. Update Team Roster", and the rule for the Necromancer clearly states that the Zombie is not on your roster (despite being on your team) until step 5 of Update Team Roster. But so long as your league consistently uses one interpretation, then it's fine.

Yeah, that's the major disconnect for me: on the team but NOT on the roster.... Clear as mud....

Like grinding up a dollar to make cents (sense), instead of asking for change at the window....

Yea, bummer. Though the Zombie actually got the Human MVP and not the Undead MVP.. but so long as the rules are consistent, then it doesn't really matter.
