The MVP went to the Human Blitzer.... Blitzer dead... MVP lost....

The Undead MVP went to the Raised Zombie.... Zombie eligible... 5 spp....

The explanation is that they are two different players... which triggers a mild disconnect in me... but not as much as the insanity around "not being on the roster"....

One Spp short, my friend... doubles roll gone, "bye-bye".... :blue:

Blogging and slogging right along with minis painting.... Skeleton Cannon is now attached to the forward mast of the dice tower and I've moved on to painting the trio of Dwarven Zombies that will guard the trophy vignette....

No rest for the wicked... as someone quipped at (to? ) me....

Nurgling along... I've collected (or have in route) the following minis to use as positionals for the "Gravely Ill":

BON-BON was damaged in route and (thankfully) easily repaired... gonna strip and reprime/paint her anyway....
Image
One of these claw guys will be a Nurgle warrior....
Image
I wanted my pestigors to be real "beasts"....
Image
Image
These Warriors (disturbing presence/foul appearence) are "pretty fly" for a Chaos guy!
Image
Image
Almost forgot my other Nurgle Warrior....
Image
Weapon snips all around, of course....

A.B.L.E. Ladder (League Rules Below)
Teams and positions for the Arkham Bloodbowl League Experience

116pts: Dwarven Greyhounds WTL:1-0-0
116pts: Dead Reckoning (Undead) WTL:1-0-0
115pts: Brad's Orcs WTL:1-0-0
84pts: Rob's Humans WTL:0-0-1
69pts: Gravely Repulsed (Necromancer) WTL:0-0-2

Like a beaten down zombie veteran rising from the grave, Replused is hungrily eyeing the Humans.... Fortunately, despite being down their first two games, the Repulsed are very healthy! Hopefully this weekend will show improvement....
************************

Although tempted to Nurgle in the Tower of Power Tournament, I'll bring a Necro team:

Gallow's Humor
1,100,000
3 Rerolls/1FF
0AC/0CL

5 Zombies
1 Ghoul
2 Wights
2 Golems
2 Werewolves

Now, if I can get the werewolves not to chase the "schtick"... work on the zombies "deadpan" delivery... provide the wights' standup training to give them "a ghost of a chance"... "flesh" out the golems' routines... and get makeup to work on those "ghoulish" good looks... this team just might have a chance!

Painting the Confrontation Dwarven Zombies for The Box and came across (finally!) an awesome combination of colors to give that baleful/blinded look in a zed's eyes:

I filled the socket with Vallejo, Game Color, Goblin Green (a bright shade of medium green), and painted the eyeball with Reaper "Ice Blue".... The contrasted effect is stunning!

I'll try for a WIP tonight/tomorrow....

Seriously warped game, today, with Digger's Gravely Repulsed Necromancers going against Aahz's (new) Humans.... The Repulsed, coming off a disappointing two consectutive losses to Dwarves and Orcs, were spoiling for respect... but from the play and smell of their players, mostly just spoiling....

Fame and Kick-off to the Necros... and Boneshock the ghoul spends 3 turns just picking up the ball.... :pissed: Due to Skulling out twice in the first three turns, the scrums did not favor Digger's undead and a wildly dodging Thundercharge (ghoul) would heave a long ballistic miracle into Terrorblow's (werewolf) hands.... In horror, the Repulsed bench watched Terrorblow trip and fall down, stunned, into the endzone... without the ball.... It would require a successful dodge, scoop and gfi from Hauntflare (wight) to plant the ball in the endzone! With two turns to go, the fleshbags would pull off the same, zipping a long one into a catcher's waiting hands (despite being next to a ghoul) and dodging merrily away for the score... tied 1-1 at the half....

The second half began with a high kick that the Thrower couldn't handle.... Then, I kid you not, Aahz's blitzer rolled double skulls, followed by double skulls! Nevertheless, the humans rolled through the middle of the cracked crypt's line and threatened deep... until they tried to hand off the ball and a catcher... couldn't.... The scrum went back and forth through turn six, and all the Necros needed was a freed up catcher of some sort.... Ring Nuffle's Death Knell: Double Skulls on turn 7... and Double Skulls on turn 8... for the first rolls both times.... Fortunately for the Grave, Aahz couldn't crack the code either....

Final: a frustrating 1-1 tie.... I couldn't pick up, dodge/gfi for the unlife of me and Aahz fumbled one of two passes and dropped both hand-offs!

Slashkill received the MVP, caused one casualty and skilled up with Block....

Well, they are still going strong. Frustrating would be no SPP and an MVP going to a "lost" player... :D

Nice pics of the box, quite inspirational really.

See, that result isn't too terrible. There were some SPP exchanged, at least. And you got an improvement. And nobody died. It could have been a whole lot worse.

You're two games in, right? And I don't have to tell you that on your next offensive drive, Hunterspawn is your ball-getter and Hauntflare is your scorer, right? This is where 2RR really hurts, but you could totally make lemonade out of that game.

Yeah, you guys are right, it hurts in game... but a healthy team... ESPECIALLY in a ladder league... has every chance to do well....

I'm letting Repulsed idle this week and taking on the ladder leading Greyhounds (Dwarves) with my Undead.... I gave the next to last Orcs the option to challenge anyone and he didn't have a preference... so it's a top-dog shoot out this week!!!!

The rebounding Orcs will catch the Humans....

In other Asylum news: I've finished one of the Confrontation Zombie Dwarf guards and over half finished with another....

This is a WIP, showing the eyes that I'm quite happy with....

The next zombie dwarf is skinned of everything except eyebrows, a ring of head hair and hands and feet.... It's quite interesting to paint that kind of figure....
******************

Thanks for the encouragement, JaM, The Box continues to take a lot of my time... and it's time well spent.... I'm lovin' it!

I see what you mean, Matt: a little pass and a score makes for a sweet deal moving on....
