Don't understand a particular rule or just need to clarify something? This is the forum for you. With 2 of the BBRC members and the main LRB5/6 writer present at TFF, you're bound to get as good an answer as possible.
Big guys prefer to work on their own, and in any case are not noted for paying terribly much attention to what is going on in team practice sessions! As a result, Big Guys may not use Team Re-rolls during their actions
This was easily understandable to me until I recently had a coach use a Leader re-roll to take a second pop at one of my players. When questioned he said it was legitimate.
I looked up Leader re-rolls and it said that they are used in the same way as re-rolls - so that made me think that they were not able to be used!
Then I had the Q&A section of the "Rules Review" shown to me - Q: Can Big Guys use non-Team re rolls, such as Leader and Trophy re rolls?
A: Yes. Though Trophy and Leader re rolls function like Team Re rolls in most respects, they are separate. Big Guys can benefit from being on a winning team, or being in the presence of a Leader just like any other player.
This says that they can...
But is this official. Was this written before LRB2 because it seems to differ to what has been included!?!
Anybody know???

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.
They are talking about re-rolls gained from the kickoff table and comparing them to Leader/Trophy re-rolls. I am not sure about the Trophy roll but the LRB states about Leader "The counter is used in exactly the same way as a Team Re-roll counter, but it may only be used if a player with the Leader skill is on the playing field" This makes me think that it should be used in the same way - not by a Big Guy.
It just brings me back to 'are the Q&A official' or as stated in LRB??
I have no problem either way - just want to know. I may get Leader for one of my teams only to have this argument with somebody else when they question me.

Yes the Q&A are official, big guys can use leader and trophie rerolls, This still counts as the reroll use for that turn though. I tend to think like you but thats the way the rules have been made by the BBRC and i can live with that.
So long as I don't have to butt heads with anybody if I use my teams that way

leader re-rolls may be used in the same way as normal team re-rolls, but they are not the exact same type.
Big guys are allowed to use the benefit of a leader re-roll !

The official ruling is that Big Guys cannot use any re-rolls that use standard "Team Reroll" counters. Both Leader Rerolls and Trophy Rerolls have their own individual and distinct counters, and can be used by Big Guys. (Part of the reasoning behind this is that the big guys can earn the Leader skill themselves now, and it wouldn't make sense to deny the player the use of his own skill.)
It makes sense - now all we need is for it to be written as such in LRB
