Newbie Roster Orc

Post by Vytek »

4 x Blitzers
4 x Black Orcs
1 x Thrower
1 x Lineman
1 x Troll
Apothecary
1 RR
3 FF

How's this for a Newbie Orc Roster to learn the game with? Or should I just scrap it all and go undead?

I'd go for more re-rolls and less Black Orcs...

(I'd get rid of them all...but hey, that's just me!)

have fun

IMO drop one blitzer & one black orc. Pick up a goblin, lineorc, and another re-roll.

Althought lineorcs are just fodder, they have a 3 agility and can pick up the ball in a pinch. The goblin will let you do the "just in case" throw with your Troll. And it's always good to have at least two re-rolls unless you're elves.

I would use this team for one off games but if you plan on going league with an orc roster I'd go with more re-rolls & fan factor.

If it's just a team for learning to play Blood Bowl it's pretty good. You have all the key orc players with which to mess about and learn strengths and weaknesses. You might consider dropping the apo and picking a goblin and some more FF so you can try the throw team mate plays.

But if it's a team to enter a league for continued play it is maybe a little top heavy. You would be better off with some more re-rolls and FF, that will allow better growth and development. As it is you will probably do well against other rookie teams, but you won't be earning money quick enough to buy new players and a couple of extra re-rolls.

I'd drop the troll and two blackorc and get some more RR and some lineorc and gobbo's instead. You can't play a game with orcs with only one RR, trust me...

Its better, but in my opinion still too many black orcs. Id go for blitzers personally, but that's just because I'm an elf player and hate having a low ag.

3 BLitzer
3 BOB
4 Goblins
1 Thrower
3 RR
9 FF

I always start this team and it works well. The Goblins can be used a catchers to win or just dodge them through to lend assists. This is a fun team to play.

Yeah Snots team looks fun. Actually I think I'm gonna try that!
Only I'd go with 4 ff and an apothecary for the poor little gobbo's

Personally, I'd never use a 50,00GC apothecary on a 40,00GC player unless that player had a stat increase or something. They're disposable. Let Dodge take care of them. Run them willy nilly and your opponent won't know what to expect out of them. Dodge the Gobbos through and pass to a Blitzer when your opponent covers them. Pin stronger players with them. Use them for crazy stunts, whatever, hust keep your opponent off balance.

I tend to get a gobbo wich I really like right from the start or something. Maybe because of the mini or something like that. But I would definently use my apothecary on a gobbo I liked just for the fun.

That team you've made there looks nice. It just need an ogre to throw the poor little bastards into the air!

Yeah, you've got to save for the big guy. I don't TTM to win anyway. If I need to win, there are much better ways to do it. I do TTM to keep the other guy guessing, though. That said, I like Trolls on the Orc team just because they fit better. It's almost like they're kin or something. The difference between AG1 and 2 is almost nonexistant when using TTM so the only thing that really comes into play is REALLY HUNGRY. That's just cool. unless you're trying to pull off the tying/winning TD. If you need to TTM for that, you probably deserve to loose.

Run them Goblins into the ground. By-the-way, After I fill out my roster, I tend to run Goblins on offense and BOBs on defense. The BLitzers always play and I try to score with them exclusively but I'll always take the easy score with a Goblin if it puts me ahead. The goal is to win after all. See what you like. I know this isn't for everyone but it's what I like to do.

Yeah, Snots team looks good, and a troll definaltly fits the theme of an orc team better than an ogre
