Underworld in the Blood Bowl
Well I miraculously made it to our local leagues finals with my first season Underworld Team. I have one really spectacular Storm Vermin that has Dodge, +1 MA, +1 AGI and Horns who has been my best player by far. All of my skaven and my troll are decently developed but my goblins are woefully underskilled. In fact I have a total of 1 skill on goblins (a big hand goblin).
I have a full roster of 16 players and am going to be facing a third season Orc team that is pretty well developed with block on all of his black orcs, a decent amount of guard, mighty blow and four pieces with tackle.
I will be receiving $500,000 in inducements for this match and was wondering if you guys had any advice on how to spend these points. Since it is the playoffs there are no star players or mercs allowed, but our league does offer all other inducements including the special play cards. My current plan is something along the lines of 1 bonus apoth, 1 babe, a wizard and 200k in cards.
I’d love to get your opinions, help me cap off the miracle season!
Thanks,
TL

How many re-rolls do you have? It's not bad idea to think about some extra team training if that amount is low. Usually when I face an underdog, they outnumber my orc team's rerolls. Black Orcs are not so tough, if they only have Block, but with Block, Guard and Stand Firm they are almost uncrackable, so I wish your opponent doesn't have that kind of borcs...

2 Babes will be 100K well spent. 2+ recovery will be great since it sounds like your opponent will be KO'ing your gobilins on a 6+ in some cases! Absolutely get 2. 1 is okay, 2 is brilliant.
Wizard sounds sensible. They aren't actually that effective, but talk him up every turn and try to put the fear into your opponent.
Depending on how many re-rolls he has, I might consider the Master Chef. If he has 4 or more, then don't bother. If he has Leader then don't bother. If he has 3 and no Leader, it might just be worth it.
I'd take either:
2 Babes
Apo
Chef
or
2 Babes
Wizard
Extra Training
Apo
50k cards
The cards are generally crap, and will be even harder to use for a ST2 team.

I considered the master chef but he actually has 6 rerolls so it didnt seem like it would work out in this case.
I do only have 4 rerolls myself, taking an extra re-roll may not be too bad. I've had fairly good luck with the 100k cards and the 50k dirty tricks in some of my past games, but there have also been times when they were fairly useless.
I agree that the block/guard/standfirm black orc is the way to go. His all more focused on injuries with either block/frenzy/Mighty Blow or Block/Tackle/Mighty Blow. He has guard on all of his blitzers. With the amount of injury skills he has on the black orcs the second babe would probably be even more important...
Thanks for all of your input!

Sorry.
Being an orc (overdog) he'll try a 2-1 grind.
So get one-shot items to pour into the final drive.
Say: Apoth, 1 babe, wizard, 2 10K cards.
Try this:
1st half, he stalls for 8 turns and scores. Don't stand up!
Try to OTS on 8th turn.
2nd half - you have to score.
Now, at 1-1 he will try to stall for the turn 8 score, so unleash everything you have.
Better?

Thanks to everyone for your input. The Underworld were able to pull it off 2-1!
I decided to go with 1 Apoth, 2 Babes, 1 Wizard, 1 Reroll and 1 Dirty Trick (Blatant Foul).
I was able to Score on turn 2, starting out on defense. I couldnt stop him from scoring back on me on turn 8 making it 1-1 at the half. I received in the second half and had to use my wizard to open things up for a score on turn 4. I was able to gum up his final drive enough that he could only have one orc in scoring position on turn 8 and one failed dodge later the Underworld are the Blood Bowl Champs!

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

Probably the Dirty Trick. I had the same card against a differant Orc Team early in the season and it caused a very key injury. In this match I only rolled a stun so it wasnt that useful.
The Extra Apoth ended up being the next least useful. I used it to apoth an injury on the last drive and it would have mattered if we'd gone to overtime, but we didnt so it didnt really have any affect.
The Babes were huge and had a ton of KOs, the Wizard led to the winning TD and the Reroll was very useful.
Thanks again everyone!
