Thank you smeborg, but I didn't say it wasn't a valid arguement, in fact my edit that I thought of how it could happen was only 2 minutes after I typed what I typed.
The push back situation doesn't seem to be an option though as the rules only allow you to push a player off a side, their is no virtual square... however the scatter option is unlikely but possible.

You seem to be missing the point - from the corner square, if the ball scatters off the pitch there is currently no why to decide which why to position the throw-in template (either along the side or the ez), and at the moment either why results in 1/3 of all throw-ins immedialtely going off the pitch again.
It doesn't matter if I push a player through the corner EZ square, or the ball scatters from the corner square over the sideline - that doesn't help decide which waythe template is placed, because the last square the ball was in (the corner) allows the template to be placed one of two ways.
(Probably easier to show with diagrams)

Currently an ex-Blood Bowl coach, most likely to be found dying to Armoured Skeletons in the frozen ruins of Felstad, or bleeding into the arena sands of Rome or burning rubber for Mars' entertainment.

Yeah but Darkson is saying: What happens if a bouncing ball bounces off the pitch in the direction of the corner. What then? It hasn't gone off from either side of the pitch. It's went off diagonally from the corner square.

I agree that the rules don´t cover it but there is a simple solution:
There are still 3 directions for the ball to be trown in from a corner square: Direction x (endzone), y (sideline), and z (diagonaly) (see "picture" below)
z
lx /
l__ y
just decide if x,y or z = 1 and son on... Problem solved.
And yes I am aware that this changes the probability of where the ball ends up in comparison to placeing the throw-in template. But this way is quick and simple to use and there is no argueing about placeing the template.

Or, another way you could do it would be to place the ball in the corner square and have the three results along sideline, along end zone and diagonally.
Seriously though, yes, it is a glitch in the rules. But do we really need an official ruling on it? It's so minor that any two players over the age of four should be able to agree to a solution on the spot when it comes up.

Jeez, Calm down.
Ofcourse its easy just to improvise a house rule if the situation does arise. It would be nice however, if an official ruling was given on this.
This situation actually pops up more than you would think in my games especially with gobbo's.

There can be no official ruling, the rules very clearly don't answer the question. There is no confusion, there is just no answer.
Clearly, the game needs to be houseruled on this point, or more to the point, clarified. I think by definition, there is no such thing as an official house rule though.
Now, perhaps you are actually asking the BBRC, Galak and Doubleskulls in particular, as they post here often, how they would handle this? Is this what you are referring to as an "official" answer?
In that case, I'd PM either one of them, they both have responded to my PM"s more quickly than can be expected of almost anyone.
My perrsonal opinion? When it happens in my games, I always suggest using the end zone, sideline, and a diagonal, or I propose simply placing the existing template as is along one of the sidelines, through mutual choice of both players or randomly. I've never had an opponent who argued with the "Sideline, diagonal, end zone" solution... but then again, I think it's only happened 3 times in all my matches.
