Introducing... me!

Hello,

I'm finally dedicating a chunk of my life to bloodbowl.
That feeling of there's something missing but what... is identified and will be tackeld now I (and my shrink) came to the conclusion that it was bloodbowl that I missed.

I'm a 5 years warhammer fantasy player and I was looking for something else to do next to warhammer.
I've been thinking of starting with bloodbowl for a while and actually was more looking for the final push to get in.
A friend who lives closeby and me were talking and both wanted to start, so we made the decision (shook hands and drank another beer - guess dwarfs my thing then)

Anyway, I live in Holland, I've bought the PSP digital version (because of which after a few games I think I understand most of the rules) and plan on buying the starter box within the next month.
I don't think I will be playing orcs or humans though, but then I'll create a new team.
I'll have to get used to having to paint a full team, as they are smaller then a warhammer unit, but then again, I can put more detail on them.

I am looking for players in the region of the Hague to teach me the finer details of defeat (I will post this part in the appropriate forum if there is one)

I do like tournaments, so I will be going to them.
But first a proper looking team (which actually means painted to a decent standard.

If you can't find anyone/enough people to practice with you shoudl try Fumbbl (or that other one, just look in the Digital Blood Bowl part of this forum), I found it a fine practice ground. Rules are much better incorporated compared to the Cyanide version it seems.

I'm in your region but a bit short on time and not experienced enough to run a smooth game/teach but hopefully that will change shortly.

Oops... Cant believe I've missed that part.

Dont worry about the "basic questions" during a tournament. Most peopel are quite friendly. Of course, knowing how to use blockdice and figuring out assists is quite useful... But I still dont know the current kick-off table, for instance. So no worries !

Also, it's a good training-ground for the Dutch Open in februari.

Depending on the amount of real life games I've played, the team I have painted (everybody knows, that painted models have better dice rolls) and the time on my hand in that weekend I might attend.

It's not that I'm scared that my opponent is not friendly, but in a tournament where there is a time limit per turn, I think it's good practice to have a game as quickly as possible to enjoy for both me and the more experienced player.
I don't mind losing, especially against a better player or against the dice, but in the end both of us have to have a fun game and you should expect and show a certain level of knowledge to have a fun game for both of the players.

If I can't make it to the Dutch Open, there are other later tournaments where I can pop my bloodbowl cherry.

There isnt a time limit per turn, but you get 2 hours to finish the game (+/- 15 minutes, if needed).
Since most skills are fairly easy to spot in tournament play (only 1 skill per player "extra" on top of the normal skills they have), and you dont need to worry who scores a touchdown (no leveling up for instance) or who gets killed (reset after each match) games CAN be played fairly quick.

Still, going to the BUBBLE might be a good option, if only to attend a tournament wich is on a smaller scale.

Normally it would, but I have two reasons not to be there:
1. I already have a warhammer doubles tournament on sunday.
2. I refuse to play with an unpainted bloodbowl team (Snob, I know), which in all fairness, I'm waiting for now.

I think we will meet up in real life JaM, because I like the tournament scene alot (only experience is warhammer, but I suspect bloodbowl not to be that different)
