Can you throw a bomb to your own player?

Post by Warpstone »

Chaos pact star idea:
Bomber Dribblesnot throws a bomb to his teammate Lewdgrip Whiparm. Assuming Lewdgrip catches it, he then whips the bomb on a long pass into the opponent's cage for some fun and mayhem.

Is the above scenario allowed by the bombardier rules? Since the rules say a bomb may be intercepted or caught, my guess is you can definitely try flipping a teammate the ball. But is throwing the ball to a teammate a catch or intercept roll? I think we'd give this a go at 3+ to catch, but not on a 6.

Thoughts?

Heck, Bomber to Zhharg would be an even more potentially useful trick: HMP'd bombs! 8)

That would count as two pass actions in the same turn, so no it wouldn't be allowed, assuming i've understood you correctly.

I'm almost certain this has been discussed, could not find the topic though. and if I remember correctly, it is quite ok to do that. Damn risky but ok.

In the post someone thought about throwing from goblin to goblin to increase the range, if I remember correctly..

Nah, thrown bombs don't count as Pass Actions. The idea above could be done twice or more in a turn if the right set of players were available (and the die rolls kind).

It seems very much in the spirit of the game...I like the idea of a goblin lighting the fuse, throwing it to another player who then belts the thing down the pitch.

And that would be 0 pass actions, as the second throw isn't an action either.

Okay, so then would the second player in the chain then catch the bomb on a 3+ or would he need to intercept it on a 6?

If the bomb lands in his square, that's a catch roll, as it follows exactly the same rules as throwing the football. +1 if it's accurate etc. I don't think your own players can intercept your own passes 8)

BTW, this wouldn't take up the second bomb chuckers action either would it? The entire bomb resolution is considered to be part of the original bombers action.

That's correct. It doesn't matter if the second thrower is a member of your team or the oppositions team. I've seen a bomb bounce around from player to player 4 or 5 times before landing. Only took the original bombardiers action.
