Slann Blitzer with AG+1

Post by AviStetto »

I just finished my 6th game with my Slann team and rolled an Agility upgrade for a blitzer as his first skill advance.

What are some ideas on how to develop this player?

Here's the team so far:

Code: Select all

Frog Force Alpha
Renoir - Blitzer - AG+1 (the blitzer in question)
Manet - Blitzer - Block, Mighty Blow
Monet - Blitzer - Block
Degas - Blitzer - Block
Rodin - Catcher - Dodge, Catch
Toulouse - Catcher - Dodge
Guillaumin - Catcher -
Rousseau - Lineman - Wrestle, Strip Ball
Tissot - Lineman - Wrestle
Bazille - Lineman - Kick
Cezanne - Lineman -
Pissaro - Lineman -
Sisley - Lineman -
3 Re-Rolls
6 Fan Factor
Apothecary
Team Value: 1,560,000

I would go with strip ball, wrestle and then sure hands. This would make the blitzer a more agressive ball extracter.

Guard comes to mind...
With AG4, he can bring his guarding assist anywhere on a 2+

Agreed.

You could even give a Catcher Dauntless and you'd need three 2+ rolls for a 2D block on the ball carrier from anywhere. Natch. :o

Agreed. A very mobile Guard is excellent. Although a reliable ST3 leaper is really good too, but he needs many skills for that to work well (Wrestle, Strip Ball), and you already have a lino with that skill set.

I'd look to try and get him his third skill soon no matter what you pick. AG4 and ST3 slanns are just that good that it makes sense to focus on skilling them up.

Guard appears to be the consensus.

I'm now thinking about this skill path:

AG+1 -> Guard -> Dodge -> Block -> Side Step

Looks good, but I think I'd rather have the Block before Dodge-he'll be targeted by your opo's tacklers (if they have any sense) so I reckon Block will protect him more and a 2+ dodge is still pretty good.

If I were you I'd get some more rerolls, imo, 3 'aint enough for a Slann team.
