I already explained why, so you can cancel wrestle with juggernaut and hit all those players like gutter runners, elf catchers etc that have taken wrestle instead of block.

Yes, but Wrestle also cancels Wrestle and is generally a better choice IMO for ball retrieving blitzers. It doesn't generate SPP but it gets the ball loose, and that's what you want when coaching Slann.

Also I thought that you advised that one should take Juggernaut and Block on Slann Blitzers, and that what was I objected against.

As I said, I didn't quite follow you, but that might have been bad reading from my part.

To be clear, I said that juggernaut is another reason why would may want to take block on a blitzer rather than wrestle as they can get juggernaut on a normal roll, while a lineman needs a double.

This player can then be used to hunt wrestle players on the other team (especially if you get tackle as well, perhaps followed up by mighty blow and piling on). Gutter Runners and elf catchers (and some other players) are built into fast players equipped to take down the ball carrier. A block + jugg build is used to hunt those players and not designed for taking down the opposing ball carrier.

You have 4 blitzers and can happily take two with block and two with wrestle, just like you take two of each with gutter runners etc.

Of course on slann you can build the linemen with wrestle for this role as block is also better for keeping diving tackle players on their feet as well, which the blitzers start with. Down to personal preference, I was merely pointing out another option available ;]

confusion over?

Yes. But now I'm certain that we disagree. :D

First I feel that using all four Blitzer slots on a Slann team is only going to result in an unreasonably high TV. They aren't worth their cost as blitzers. Linemen do it just as well but to a lesser cost. But yes, it is an option. :)

The other thing we disagree upon is using two skill choices to get Juggernaut and Block. That's a waste of SPPs (and TV) as far as I'm concerned. Yes, on Norse Berserkers Juggernaut can be a decent combo, but a player that lacks Block can do just as well with just Juggernaut to a lesser cost. If you want this guy to get Juggernaut, give it to him directly and make him a one task guy. Add Frenzy and Mighty Blow amd you'll never miss Block but get a whole range of new options for mischief.

My 2 cents.

Cheers

I'm yet to play slann, so I will put that it was only a suggestion, not tried in practice.

I still think there is merit in building one player that is designed to hurt those common wrestle builds. I've had discussions with some coaches who think that wrestle may be overpowered.

guess I also still wasn't clear enough that I would take tackle before juggernaut and perhaps even other skills as well, not as the second skill after block

there are times when having one player with juggernaut on the team can be really useful for more than cancelling out wrestle

course I may change my mind after I get around to playing slann myself ;]

Juggernaut and Strip Ball would be a decent combo for a slann blitzer dedicated to hunt the ball-carrier.
Just my two cent :)

Well. When you get a guy with Guard you'll se that I was right... ;)

Mobility is what makes Slann tick. And the ability to provide Guard in hard to reach places is unique and a game winner.

If not for the S-access, blitzers would have little use in a Slann team.
Good news is I saw this before my next game so I had the option to change my mind :) Ill let you know how it works out though I got some funny looks from my club members who are also wary of any choices I make.....
