Pestigor with AG4, Block Rolled Double 5s
I have 2 ball-handling Pestigors on my Nurgle team. One has Block and AG4. The other has Block and Extra Arms. Each of them skilled up last game. The Extra Arms guy rolled a standard skill. The AG4 guy rolled double 5s. This presents a dilema on skill selection.
What skill would you give an AG4, Block Pestigor on a 10/Doubles skill roll?
- MA+1
- Dodge
- Leap
- Side Step
- AV+1
What about the Block, Extra Arms guy?
- Sure Hands
- Big Hand
- Two Heads
- Fend
- Foul Appearance
I also skilled up a Nurgle Warrios with Block. He rolled a 10 (6,4). Should I take the MA or AV, or play it safe with Mighty Blow?

Ugh... brain... hurting... so many right choices for the AG 4!
After bleeding out my ears... I've voted for dodge.
Makes him a blodger, making your opponents look for a tackling ball popper (which is becoming slightly more rare for some reason lately).
Also, AG4 + dodge makes him hard to contain, and he can usually get to where he wants. He can even do some nasty dodge-blitzing with the horns.
MA was #2. Never underestimate the value of an extra square of movement, especially when yer team is lacking on the zip zip.
Leap is cool, and nicer with AG4, but is still kind of a trick play that might not get a lotta quality use. Side Step also very nice, but he's more likely to be a target that gets knocked on his butt. Again, situational.
Don't like AV, dodge gives you more survivability.
Vote for dodge.

Re: Pestigor with AG4, Block Rolled Double 5s
This is the hardest one of the three. I like +MA when it makes the guy faster than anybody else on the team. When he's already got AG4, it looks even better. Dodge would be my second choice, and Leap a distant third. I doubt I would take side step before dodge (but then I am admittedly biased against that skill), and wouldn't even consider +AV.AviStetto wrote:What skill would you give an AG4, Block Pestigor on a 10/Doubles skill roll?
I like Sure Hands, probably with Kick Off Return coming next. What about the Block, Extra Arms guy?
Again, I don't see much point adding AV. +MA is only good on this guy if you plan to take Break Tackle next. If not, I would just go with MB.I also skilled up a Nurgle Warrios with Block. He rolled a 10 (6,4). Should I take the MA or AV, or play it safe with Mighty Blow?

Ag4 MV7 Block would be a tasty looking ball handler (plus a nice looking defensive blitzer too)
Plus you have Regen so AV9 is less essential.
If it's LRB6 it's gonna be exceptionally hard to stop him with horns and everthing.
If he gets another skill I'd be very tempted by Sure Hands- then you have an ultimate carrier.

I wouldn't go Leap. It is a good choice for a Beastman on doubles, but maybe not for a Pestigor. But with AG4, this guy has many other things he can be doing for you.
Probably go +1MA. I had two MA7, AG4 orc blitzers once and they were just silly.

If you're not in a Dodge- heavy league, and you're not in a Dwarf- heavy league, Dodge is a good call. Otherwise, I'd take either +MA or Leap. Nurgle really wants a difference-maker, and a 3+ leaper who blitzes at ST4/Block is a difference-maker. MA7 also is a big jump over MA6; it makes caging easier, and it's important for tempo-control if you need a quick score.
I'd probably give this guy +MA regardless of the format: it just opens too many doors to be ignored. If he gets doubles again, Dodge or Side Step, depending on the format: either one will help keep him alive, and both have their limitations as a #4 skill.

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

+1 for MA on the ballcarrier. Dodge is nice, but you already dodge with 2+ and you dont have surehands which is what dodge is for (blodge/surehands vs leaping/stripping annoyances). You have tentacles & massed S-access, you dont usually need to resort to cage-leaping or other unreliable agi-stuff..
Surehands to the X-arms guy. Although..
Personally I would not waste two entire pestigors for ballcarrying and would rather look at having 1 with Surehands (to counter strip), another with X-arms or +AG (against every1 else/as a catcher). While still taking bashy/blocky skills for the other skillups (guard, mb, tackle, claw).
Wouldnt think twice about 6+4 on a warr either, would just take a skill instead.
