Damged DE-Blitzer

Post by Kouran79 »

Hello,

we're playing a long term league and i would like to get your oppinions:

I've got a Blitzer with one Skill: Agility+1. Very nice but he also got a Niggling Injury and Strength-1 (Till now 6 Skill Points  ).

In my team I have now 4 Blitzers and 1 witch and after the next game i should be able to buy the second witch. (Rest Lineelfs and 1 Runner, 11 Player totally).

My thougths are:

1. Retire him instantly and get the inducements (lower TV).
2. Keep him for a while and replace him after I#ve bought the witch.
3. Keep him till he dies, cause AG 5 ist a good Catcher Type. (He 'will' die soon in case of his niggling inury i think - so maybe it's not a good idea to get him a Scoring Machine with many SSPs...)

What do you think of it?

ST1? Retire him. You don't need a 140k Snotling. Too bad about the +1AG....

Retire him.

Minus strength is a sacking offense in my book (all the more for a blitzer) and what's more, he got a niggle on top of that... game over for him!

Ah. That makes it a judgment call. On a High Elf Catcher or a Ghoul I might consider keeping him, but on a Dark Elf Blitzer, yeah, sack him.

Rip off the band aid man. Keeping him (especially as a "catcher-type") will only mean that he is going to gain more SPPs that are only going ot be wasted when you retire him.

Do it now before he wastes any points.

But AG5 is such a beautiful thing! I'd think about keeping him for one more match. The things you should consider are:

1) What's the TV difference between you and your next opponent? Will sacking him either give you inducements or lose them for your opponent?
2) What team are you facing next? What kinds of ball carriers do they have? Do they play a passing or a running game?

Say, you're facing lizardmen, I might think about keeping him. With Block he can hit skink ball carriers reliably and AG5 helps a lot in making up opportunities although without Dodge he's not as useful. Hmm, I'd most likely lose him too right away, but the next opponent might mean that keeping him for one more game might make sense.

+1 AG isn't THAT rare. Send him packing, you'll probably roll another one sooner or later.

Keep him!

Make him a "target" for the opponent to waste their blitzes on! Dodge, Side Step, Fend.

Give him Leap, Strip Ball and Wrestle and just go "ballhunting" with him.

If you after a couple of games don't feel that AG5 helps you, just sack him, but give this man a chance to use the AG5 without having a player that you care about.

If he would only has ST-1 this would be my decision, but he also has an Nig.

So I think he will be often KO or worse and i can't really rely on him...he could be very random in "being on the field" and he has a TV of 140K.

I think the price could be to much. A Witch Elf mercenary for example costs 140K which could be a much better choice...(or Assassins against low AV teams.)

I tend to retire him...

If it wasn't for the NI I would have said keep him. I wouldn't worry about him "stealing" spp. That just means you'll get more inducement goodies when he does die.
But because of NI as you say he might not spend too much active time on the field. I would still keep him in my own team, but I'm a bit sentimental about my players :)

Kick him away so far they'll be no chance for him to come back.

-ST? No long term future in a long term league = SPP waste.
