I just began playing Gobbos in a league for the first time and they are a blast! Here are my thoughts...
My starting team - (This is with the most recent rule changes)
8 Goblins
2 Trolls
Pogoer, Looney, Bombardier & Fanatic
4 Re-Rolls.
I'd forget the Star Players and just get bribes to keep your regular SWs in the game.
I love the Fanatic! Like a third Troll but don't be afraid to cut him if he doesn't get doubles for his first or second skill. Rebuy him and try again! Perfect Fanatic - Block, MiB, Grab!
Inducements - Bribes! Wizards, extra Apoths and Babes. Maybe a DT card or two if you have the points but you should emphasize keeping your team on the pitch.
Forget DT - folks will just punch that guy. I like Catch (for handoffs) and Sprint/Sure Feet to help with those Troll-Throwing-Gobbo TDs!
No Guard on the Trolls. Stand Firm is good, Grab is better but I like Strong Arm to help with throwing Gobbos! Again, I'd cut/rebuy these guys if they don't get Block in their first two skills. Block/SA them both and fire away!
