Suitable existing GW minis for LRB5+/LRB6 starplayers

Post by landrover »

As per the suggestion in the viewtopic.php?t=29228&start=75&postdays ... highlight= thread, here is a thread to suggest, argue and (hopefully) reach consenses about the most suitable current GW minis for the starplayers that exist today.

If you have a suggestion for a mini, post here and I'll add it to the list. If you think you have a better suggestion, post here and start the debate.

Cheers.

Off the top of my head, for a few who've never had figures:

Good work. Those Skaven assassin links aren't working though. The plague priest is perfect... he even has a little helmet.

Isn't Bertha Bigfist meant to be an ogre cheerleader conversion?
http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catal ... rod1560095

All of these are currently available from GW:
Griff Oberwald
Head Splitter
Hthark the Unstoppable
Hubris Rakarth
Jordell Freshbreeze
Morg 'N Thorg
Ripper Bolgrot
Silibili
Varag Ghoul Chewer
Boomer Eziasson
Luthor von Drakenburg
Flint Churnblade
Grim Ironjaw
Hack Enslash
Hakflem Skuttlespike
Horkon Heartripper
Prince Moranion
The Mighty Zug

I think we should list unavailable recent (3rd/4th) bloodbowl models like Zara and Ramtut as 'GW can support' models too.

I'd also list 2nd edition stars who aren't available.

Then a list of star's who've never had a model, and a suitable GW replacement.

Then any stars who have had a model but don't anymore who we can find a replacement for can be listed.

Edit: I suppose updating the list would make sense.

Star Player: suggested GW mini
Barik Farblast: Old model
Bertha Bigfist: Ogre Cheerleader
Brick Far'th & Grotty: Ogre Thrower and Goblin Model
Bomber Dribblesnot: Goblin Bombadier
Boomer Eziasson: Current Model

Deeproot Strongbranch: Treeman
Dolfar Longstride: 2nd edition Elf kicker?

Fezglitch: Skaven Plague Censer Bearer or Plague Priest

Hakflem Skuttlespike: Current Model
Headsplitter: Current Model
Helmut Wolf: Old human chainsaw. Chainsword + human player conversion

Hubris Rakarth: Current Model
Humerus Carpal:
Icepelt Hammerblow: WFB Yhetee
Ithaca Benoin:
J Earlice:
Jordell Freshbreeze: Current model
Lord Borak the Despoiler: 3rd edition model
Lottabottol:
Mad Max:

Morg 'n' Thorg: Current model
Nobbla Blackwart: Goblin chainsaw
Prince Moranion: Current model
Puggy Baconbreath: Old model.
Quetzal Leap:

Rashnak Backstabber: OOP Hobgoblin sneaky git
Ripper Bolgrot: Current model
Roxanna Darknail:

Varag Ghoul-Chewer: Current model.

The last one worked but it was the commas I'd used that were messing up the first two; I edited the post and they should all be good now.

For Glart SmashRip Jr., i'm gonna try to covert the brand new Queek Headtaker

http://www.games-workshop.com/gws/catal ... rod210014a

Remove the standard crap on the back, add a few subtle spikes/horns there. One weapon snip and a hand snip to be replaced by a claw from the bitz box. Weapons are very exponsed, so they can easily be removed and i think his armour looks quite blood bowly. The pose is awesome for a blitzer, very dynamic. The size should be perfect for a ST4 player.

Only thing i don't like too much are the rats under his feet. Could snip those and lower the mini, but then the pose would look odd. Or you could snip them and use a flight base. Need to check when i have the mini (in the mailbox today), but i might just keep the rats.
