Re: Necro team progression
I agree with you re: the linemen, Matt. Just not having much joy skilling them. Not caused many CAS at all this season (2 games excepted).

Re: Necro team progression
With Necro, there's not much you can do except hope for MVPs and maybe occasionally run a handoff to the front of your cage (hard to do given that you tend to get into that spot late in drives when you also tend to be out of TRRs). If you have an MVP Zed, you can use him to mark your ball-carrier: with a TRR you can even QP with him once and hope for the best (this is where a Catch Ghoul would be handy... but that's a late-season thing).Leipziger wrote:I agree with you re: the linemen, Matt. If you're referring to my last post, that's not at all what I was talking about. I was saying that Chainsaw, like any other hunter, is better against bash than it is against pure agility. Taking out the best guy on any elf team is nice, but there are 10+ other guys where he came from, and they can all more-or-less do what stud-boy could do, maybe with a little less pizzaz. Most Undead teams run 5-6 AG3 players at full development: take out the best one and any other one, and they'll have a heck of a time scoring. Moreover, Undead need two specific players to be bashy: if you drop a Mummy, you own every phase of the game. By contrast, dropping a BOB off an Orc team would make the bash game only slightly less unfair.

What is Nuffle's view? Through a window, two-by-three. He peers through snake eyes.
What is Nuffle's lawn? Inches, squares, and tackle zones: Reddened blades of grass.
What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

Re: Necro team progression
I took the Wizard and Hack n Slash in the end and we had a real end to end game. On Geoff's 7 turn drive, my wizard casualtied his ball carrying ghoul which resulted in the ball moving up and down the field until Geoff squeezed over the line. Unfortunately, not enough of my ko players came back to avoid having to place Hack on the pitch before the second half. However, Hack did manage to slice and dice someone to death (zombie) although in two turns his performance was very mixed: turn 1, failed chainsaw roll, failed loner. Turn 2 failed chainsaw, loner succeeded, death caused!
In the second half, I caused a few more casualties (well, Geoff dodged himself off the pitch
and a zombie meted out some hurt) and got a score on the board, but did not have the numbers to avoid scoring quickly. Geoff then received and despite my best attempts, ran in the winning TD for a 2-1 win (6-4 to Geoff on CAS). Great game though and entirely unlike any Undead match-up I have played in.
My next game is high elves. No new skills to add, but my sure hands ghoul is back and a new zombie to replace the one killed by Geoff. I have also invested in an extra reroll + a coach and a cheerleader.
