Hey Ian,

Do you think it'd be possible to get the Play Creator forum extension up and running on TFF? It seems silly not to use it with as much play discussion as goes on here.

Example here.

If you need a hand getting it set up, I'm sure Grumbledook can point you in the right direction, as he got it going on his forum.

Unfortunately not. There is some phpbb integration code I need to add that, IIRC, was documented on the play creator forum, but they have been shut down.

I'm used to working with vbulletin so not sure the implementation for that I did will work with phpbb without having a look at the back end.

I am all for an easy way to create visuals of plays, but I dislike play-creator since it requires flash to be seen. I don't mind having to have flash to create plays, but sticking plenty of flash instances on a viewing page seems like a bad idea.

I've found flash being a bit dodgy and resource consumptive if there is too much of it, but maybe it's just me.

Help line I'll leave up to you, but I used the following on my board:

Insert a Play-Creator play into your post. Insert the ID of the Play between the tags, fx: [PLAY-CREATOR]111[/PLAY-CREATOR]

heh nice try, the forum software needs changing to actually accept those as bbcode, they don't come built into any forum software

Hmm, that's the code directly as I sent it to Cyanide for implementation on their board, and which was used on the (due to spammers, now closed) play-creator forums. If it doesn't work here, I have no idea why. Vbulletin would be different though, no doubt.

if bbphp does html replacement for the tags then it should be a doddle to set up
