slaan lino rolls 12
So i have a slaan lino with wrestle who rolled 12 - do I take guard, +1 Str (or strip ball I suppose? Though id figure the other choices would be better)
Note I have 3 other (!!lucky rolls!!) guard linemen if this modifies thinking at all

+1ST would seem to be the obvious choice. This Lino then becomes an excellent cage-breaker, potentially leaping into a cage and getting a 2-dice block on the ball carrier.

+ST. The amount of Guard in the team doesn't matter. The Leap skill means that everyone on the team should take +ST and +AG without hesitation as it's so much easier to get to use. +ST in leaping into cages and +AG in leaping just about anywhere. +AG on the catchers is golden too as, well, it's AG5.

why would you not take the strength increase
Thats pretty much what I thought but I know there are people always working percentages and whatnot on here so I wasnt sure if I had missed something in the concept or in the combo with wrestle
As much as I am always wishing for more guard when I get dug in to hold down the other team while my scoring teams make the dash for the endzone - I figured this ST would pair with the linos to wrestle down with my guarder assists or allow me a better blitz when crucial.

We need a big giant sign a the top of the forum that says: "If you rolled a 12, don't ask what you should take."

Re: slaan lino rolls 12
A simple check is advisable when you roll a 12 for any player:
"Is there any reason not to take +1ST?"
There are some player-types in certain situations for whom you might answer "Yes" or "Maybe" to this question. But these cases are relatively rare in practice.

Any ST3 or ST4 player takes the +ST
I'd extend that to ST2 as well
ST1 and ST5/6 you can argue it

Definitely, I played a strength 3 gobbo recently. He was a bloomin pain till he got chainsawed by hack en slash and got a permanent AV decrease!!!Grumbledook wrote:

I hope you didn't cut him! He'd still be a bloomin' pain... just now, it'd be to everybody.Dan A wrote:Definitely, I played a strength 3 gobbo recently. He was a bloomin pain till he got chainsawed by hack en slash and got a permanent AV decrease!!!Grumbledook wrote:

I might actually skip +ST on a Goblin for an Orc team. Nah. I'd take it. If I got it on each of two Gobs, the second one might get a skill.
