Official rules changes?

Post by johhnytrash »

I've been out of the loop for a bit, but I saw over at MBBL that GW is changing the official rules to match the video game. Can someone direct me to a post or a thread where this is mentioned, disputed or refuted? I was searching and couldn't find anything.

Actually that's not true.

To be honest ... we don't know what GW's position is on LRB 5.0 now. With Competition Rules Alternative Pack now on GW's site and no reference to the LRB at all ... its vague.

I'm assuming that GW's position is this if I had to guess:

The rules in the boxed set (LRB 1.0) are the official rules of the game. The Competition Rules Alternative Pack are rules for long term cut-throat leagues if they desire to use them. In light of this, we at GW feel that the Cyanide environment is a cut-throat league and believe they should move to this standard as soon as possible.

We are just starting season five of our tabletop league. Originally, we were going to upgrade to LRB 6.0, but that is no longer possible (browsed through General Chat topics, I am very sorry for you Tom). Is your recommendation the same as for OP ?

What is the functional difference between LRB 5.0, former LRB 6.0 and "Competition Rules"? Is there a summary of changes between the LRB 5.0 and whatever new rules you recommend?

Thanks,
Piotr

The document formerly known as LRB 6 (TDFKALRB6) is - in essence - the same as the C.R.A.P.

C.R.A.P. is all GW see fit to give us for all the hard work put in by (mostly) Galak, (significantly) the BBRC and (somewhat) the rest of the community.

So if you want to use the rules that were in TDFKALRB6 then you should just use the C.R.A.P. version from GW's site.

(if you're lucky you might find links somewhere to a modified verion of LRB5 with the approved rules that isn't C.R.A.P.)

Thanks,

You just confirmed about all I gathered by quickly browsing other topics here.
The question is - how do quickly check differences between LRB 5.0 and C.R.A.P ?
Do you have a copy of LRB 6.0 you can share? Is your 'lucky' statement referring to that? I heard it has the changes highlighted and would be very useful for my league.

I would really appreciate a PM with a copy.
