Ogre progression - need opinions

Post by Indigo »

Okay, although my Chaos team has played 3 lost 3, I have got an incredible amount of SPPs from them. Also, my Ogre rolled 12 for his first skill, leaving me with this tricky situation.

Do I give him +1 ST or use it to get a skill, e.g. Dodge?
My idea was to give him +1 ST, then give him multiple block for his next skill, followed by block or pro.

Any ideas?

Go for the +1 Str, you lucky devil. Your Ogre will be able to beat down other big guys on the field without help. It it a very large advantage against other strength teams. It's also nice that one assist will give him three dice against normal strengh players.

I'd highly suggest that you give him Block as his second skill, because 31 spp's is a long way to go for a big guy. Piling on would be tempting, though.

Take the +1 ST, no question.

That's what I thought, but the GW staffer I played against said "Go for DODGE!! "

I reckon block is probably the best idea for skill 2, as all the strength in the world won't save me if I get "down unless you have block" on the roll :)

and it will get embarassing if I multi block two blitzers only to fall on my face!

+ST is #1 choice. Then block, then pro. If you get another double you may want to consider frenzy

+1 st, as for your last comment, would be better 2 +1 ag and no +mv, that would be hilarious. Throw Team Mate with ag 4.

A roll of 12 comes up very rarely so use it. As was said the +1 ST will go alot farther than dodge or any other skill you could choose from AG or Passing lists.

ST is great.
Block is a good second choice.
But what about piling on? +6/+1 takes care of most problems :D

ST 6 and Break Tackle is a nice combo - especially if you can add Stand Firm too. Just give him the ball and he'll wade through the opposing team... :D

Not to mention that St 6 and break tackle make most cages useless.

Strange things appear to be happening all the time. My ogre got that strength increase on his first level up, too. But so did a rat ogre and a mummy in our league. :-I

Anyway, I pretty much torn between Block, MultiBlock and Piling On for my second increase. I know that having no block is a liability, but I just love the idea of being able to block two guys or crushing some poor slag under 250 kg of ogre meat.

I JUST CAN'T DECIDE!!! HELP!
