Flame Bowl III - Potential Dates

Post by Nippy Longskar »

Hi folks,

It doesn't seem like 2 minutes since the last one, but I want to get on top of organising this year's FB so that:

1) More people have the chance to arrange to attend (including some players from beyond England, hopefully)

2) I don't have a mad rush the week before and nearly cut my leg off

So, what do people think of the weekend of the 27th and 28th November? Is that utterly terrible for anyone who has attended before or who would like to come this year?

Cheers!

Sounds good, though I had thought Flame Bowl had made the first weekend of December its own.

True enough, but I know it's a bad date for some, so if this weekend looks more favourable for more people then I'm happy enough to move it slightly.

I always enjoyed the first week in December as there aren't any major things happening in racing, other than the Tingle Creek, so I could pretty much guarantee having it off.

The 27th and 28th Novemeber has the potential to go badly, with the Hennessy that weekend, but it's also my birthday on the 29th so there is potential for a bit of a celebratory drink.

Sounds fine to me, Nipples. However, given the choice, I love having it in the first week of December :) Either way, I will be attending.

Yep, last weekend in November suits me fine.

Except I don't want to think about cold, dark, wet November right now cos it's hardly even spring yet. :o

Perfect (and one i should attend). last week in Nov is best for me; also gives a weekend water break with Brassmans which is a Belgian tournament a good few Southern Brits go to.

how likely is this now?

its not on the calender yet and looking at the best dates to suggest moving spiky for least clashing

Sorry for the lack of updates folks, venue is proving an issue at the moment. Hoping to have something lined up in the next fortnight.

@ Grum - sorry mate you've lost me there; isn't Spiky in early October?

dave is looking to move it as they moved to eurobowl to the weekend afterwards and with lots of coaches planning to go to that it would likely hit attendance at spikey

Ah, fair enough, that makes sense. Well like I say I'll endevour to have an update soon once a venue is sorted, and will obviously look to avoid clashes as much as possible. Thanks for the heads up.
