Discuss Fantasy football-style board games - GW's Blood Bowl, Impact!'s Elfball, Privateer Press' Grind, Heresy's Deathball, etc. THIS IS NOT AN NFL FANTASY FOOTBALL SITE!
I have been asked a few times what you need to play it so here is a quick list!
1) The VASSAL engine. The ElfBall mod is very buggy on the latest mod but runs just fine on VASSAL 3.0.x so download and install this file, if you dont have Java then it will install it for you! Do not use any later versions as the Mod will not work properly! http://www.vassalengine.org/install/VASSAL-3.0.zip
There is an excellent helpfile on VASSAL's site that explains everything, how to connect to the server etc. You can find this here, however you can play standalone without being on the net http://www.vassalengine.org/wiki/doku.p ... ng_started
If you need help using the mod, then GrumpyGrizzly and I wrote a comprehensive helpfile. Simply unzip the following file and open "ElfBall Helpfile" and that should explain almost eveything! http://www.vassalengine.org/community/i ... le_id=2973
For some reason I find myself really wanting to paint teams for Elfball, rather than finishing off my Chaos Dwarfs...compromising by adding the last figs to my Valkyrie/Amazon/Human team...then Gnolls.

Followed the instructions - downloaded version 3.0, unzipped it, double clicked the .bat file - but only get an error message saying it can't find javaw. No idea what's going on.
I'd try the latest version, but the mod apparently doesn't work with it

Got it to work easily enough, shame I have no idea how to play the game... anyone fancy teaching a newbie the ropes? I am quite interested in getting the boxset but I really want to see how it plays first.
We had a little game last night, in which Sann basically taught me how to play. Its really enjoyable and I can see myself getting into it, depending on there being people to play against of course.
