The BBRC have worked hard to minimise the number of rolls happening in a team turn by your opponent.
Why?
Because it's Annoying
Because it disrupts the flow of the game
It takes time in a 4 turn time limit (and not everyone plays with Chess clocks!)
Play By E-Mail is downright impossible
to a) o.k., no problem with that (as always, in doubt one can always house rule it the way one likes)
But as posted above I like your decision
to b) because it's annoying
agreed!!
because it disrupts the flow of the game
I more than agree on that!!!!
It takes time in a 4 turn time limit
here we go...my tournament and league experience is that some turns are more tricky, others are straight forward and simple. OVERALL a game may last about two hours without wasting time or needing a chess clock. And only an average turn is about four minutes, but a more specific look would surely reveal that most of them are below or above that limit without changing the pace or delay of the game at all. If you use a normal clock you can still add another minute to a turn (so make it five) because of the opponents actions. If you have an overall limit you don't even need to do that but just keep the limit and the time already used in mind. By "bending the rules" I wanted to express (without knowing your intended direction) that a single, very specific rule or mechnism shouldn't be seen in terms of 'time'.
play by e-mal is downright impossible
so hum! as stated previously, some skills are used in the opponents turn, so there is already some problem there interupting the others turn. If I want to passblock, I will have to interrupt anyway. Another added dieroll (bonehead) does not change my intention, I will still interupt. So i don't think this argument is valid for PBEM. And here I also don't have four minutes as a limit for one turn!
I found your comment on "mental future developments" VERY interesting and have some questions in this respect:
Some guy posting here (again) and basically playing starcraft considers the future of BB is dependent from the internet only. Others opposed that it was a board game and will be. Do you see PBEM getting more important (like new rules are also considered suitable for PBEM, for example)??
My first post on this topic was based on the discussion of passblock being an action or not which would be decisive for the bonehead roll. I didn't know about the intended minimisation of rolls in the opponents turn or the 'time' agrument. But knowing that now, there are some other ideas in my mind (PLEASE, no offense

)
The cards were not brought back because they were too expensive. Now, they also interupt the opponents turn, including die rolls. Another reason or not??
The mage was downgraded to the start of your own turn. Because they also interupt the opponents turn??
The roll for interception is made before the throw. One idea was to see where the inaccurate ball (if so) will go to (for the accurate ball we know already) and reuse the the template (if neccesary) to check who can intercept and THEN try to intercept. Quite logic, but not the mechanism of the game...also interupting the opponents turn even longer??
I also think it's good for people on this board to know that there exit 'ideas' to push the game to a certin direction and this may help bringing up more new ideas which may be seriously considered by the BBRC since they are going the 'right' way.
