For fumble purposes, agility mean absolutely nothing then?
Correct

from what I read in the rule book a die roll of 1 or 6 before modification results in a failure/success in Dodge, Pass, Catch Intercept (6)
How can AG mean nothing for a fumble? You roll the D6 on a pass: if its a 1 you fumble (no effect from AG), and if your roll is modified to a 1 you also fumble (affected by AG). Therefore, the worse your AG, the higher likelihood you are going to fumble after modification.

I could very well be wrong, but it seems if so there are others in the same boat just based on this thread. Last year I played Pact in a tourney and when I used TTM with the Troll I actually argued for a fumble but the tourney refs (and my opponent) insisted it wasn't a fumble because I didn't roll a 1 before modification. I gave in and accepted their ruling, eventually scoring 3 OTT's in a single game (which I still lost! )

A natural 1 or 6 yields the ya boo sucks or yippee result. Every player has a 1 in 6 chance of catching an intercept or throwing it long, so on and so forth.

If the roll is modified to a 1 then it is a fumble.

Hence passers who get accurate and strong arm can negate the bad mods.

My AG5 WE thrower wishes to throw the ball.

Target is 2+
Quick 2+ success, 1 is a fumble even though there is a +1 to throw
Short 2+ success, 1 is a fumble
Long 2+ success, however die rolling 1 or 2 = a fumble because there is a -1 to throw
Long bomb 2+ success, however a die rolling a 1-3 = a fumble because of -2 to roll.

However my AG5 Thrower has accurate:

Quick 2+
Short 2+
Long 2+ (not the -1 and accurate off set each other)
Long Bomb 2+ but a roll of 1 or 2 = a fumble

My other Thrower has no improvements to help

Quick 3+, but gets +1 to the throw
Short 3+, no mods
Long 3+, with a -1 suffers the same problems as the top noted AG5 player, however if he rolls a 3 and has -1 it them becomes a 'wobble' ball
Long Bomb 3+ same as the top noted AG5 player but a roll of a 4 with modifier converts it to a 'wobble' ball.

So the refs and opponent were wrong and you should highlight it in the rules section of what is a fumble, as it clearly states a roll of a 1 or less before or after modification.

Throw team mate fumbles on a 1 or a 2 without any skills coming into play

this is cause there is -1 to throw a team mate, the throwing range doesn't have a negative effect as the max you can throw it is a short pass

Except at quick pass range:
The -1 for TTM goes out with the +1 for quick pass so effective a 0 and you only fumble on a natural 1.

true, should have said I was mainly talking about going for the one turn touchdown where you wouldn't likely to be throwing it at quick pass range

the 2+ is handy for throwing flings at close by cages
