Touch Back or Throw In

Post by Eski »

the ball lands on the edge after a scatter. a high kick is rolled on the KO table. Moving a under the ball, an attempt to catch is failed and the ball scatters off the field. Is this a throw in or a touch back?

thanks

just like if you kick to 2 squares behind the line and it bounces to the line and the lineman doesn't catch it and it scatters out it is a touchback. Kinda strange though since it obviously isn't the kickers fault and in real football if they touch it and it goes out it is not a touchback. But this is the simplest way to handle it I suppose.

This actually happened where someone got a blitz and surrounded the ball and it bounced out. I was sort of expecting it it to and happy it happened as the blitz left the top side wide open and was an easy score:)
