Stunty team boost with Sure Feet
I was thinking about stunty teams over the weekend and was wondering about modifying the 'Sure Feet' skill to give stunty teams a helping hand with throw team-mate. I thought that the skill could either be changed so that it either adds 1 to the landing roll (so 3+ not 4+) or allows the landing roll to be re-rolled - whichever seems fairer.
I did not think this would be too much of an advantage as no stunty player starts with sure feet, so they have to skill up to get it.
What do you think?

Re: Stunty team boost with Sure Feet
its an idea i've had before, but i feel that we would need to run the numbers on ttm. currently the odds are rather poor for a one turn score, but would either of these boosts unbalance them? it wouldn't do for it to become drastically easier to pull these off.
my heart says that these simple adjustements (either) wouldn't cause a problem, but my head wants someone to do an in depth statistical analysis (my head got confused with the probabilities of reroll usage).
incidentally, isnt sure feet a doubles skill for stunties?

Re: Stunty team boost with Sure Feet
I think it would be OK.
Personally I'd prefer another kind of boost - I don't much like boosting the least tactical/most random OTS side of the game. I'd rather have them perform better in other areas.
Also, there is the orc OTS to consider.
Another idea might be this:
New TTM modifier: +1 to land if the player does not have the ball.
That will make all kinds of clever TTM plays easier.
But it won't make OTS-TTM easier.
Cheers

ohhhh, i like this one plasmoid
after all, it's much easier to regain your balance etc if your hands aren't busy holding the ball, as you can use them to balance, instead of falling flat on your face

i sure have heard worse ideas. (this is coming from the man who wants to put pass on his troll aas soon as he rolls a double). clever ttm is clearly the way forward!

I like this, but I think it should be a RR for simplicity's sake. The "if he doesn't have the ball" bit makes no sense in applicative terms: the only time you intend to make a landing roll with a skilled player is if there's a TD on the line.

For orcs, perhaps.
For gobbos, ogres and halflings there are lots of cool things you could try, if only they were slightly more likely to succeed.
