I need an explanation of this. Is it a smell or a look? At first thought I imagine stomachs hanging out under shirts. I don't want to imagine the smell it will all be too real two weeks from now.

hahahaha...you are totally right on!

GamerHam is actually BOTH the sheer amounts of meat that hang out AND the smell of said meat! Like when hundreds of sweaty fat dudes are in a room at Gencon....eating...farting...etc, it just multiplies over and over again. You can't get that smell off. And it burns into your brain for weeks after.

GamerHam is not edible. Sorry ladies.

I went to eat one year at one of the places inside the convention center and was just near two guys that smelled of dirty balls, sweat and ass so bad that I really almost threw up right there. It's so hard to understand how they can even begin to think that it's ok to be so damned gross. I understand that GenCon is the super awesome shit of all gaming conventions and all, but please don't attend if you don't like the fact that other people are going to be repulsed by you. Hell last year a group of us wore shirts that said so, the front was a bar of soap like the fight club soap but had GAMERS written across it and had a tag line that said "Soap, the four letter word you should use everyday", and the back had in small print between the shoulder blades "Please use Soap". I may snap a pic of it tomorrow if I remember. I try to keep my physical presence tucked under my shirt, but sometimes the backside shines through. I will not wear a shirt that my belly hangs out under.

When I started seeing my wife I had to explain...sensitively  ....my times at gencon. She said "Oh, the nerdy convention downtown? I had to cardiovert some 400 pound guy in a Darth Vader costume one year after he was suffering a heart attack. You don't do THAT do you?"

No love, I just play table top fantasy football that includes goblins, orcs, elves and dwarves.

I want this shirt!

I was ass to ass at an Adepticon 40k tournament one time. Extremely crowded. It was disgusting.

It smelled like a pig died inside of some cretin's jean shorts.

Hilarious. I love how it needs to be reiterated on the back.

I could imagine someone reading the front laughing, but not actually getting that it applies to them....then they read the back and realize. Shit - he means me.

Sadly,

GamerHam is why you will never find me at a tournament at a convention. . . .small local one maybe. But none of the big one's.

The fact that I would be willingly associating myself with people that find it acceptable to be that repulsive makes me feel. . . somewhat . . . .less.

I've only ever had that problem at conventions, and even then never with the bloodbowl crowd, though sometimes we were close to another game that was unpleasant.
So I would lump Bloodbowlers into this group, but can't blame you for staying away from conventions.
