My choice would be catcher.

I´d take a thrower.

Throwing may be seriously more difficult than catching ( which is 2+ usually, 3+ if you have a TZ), so I´d rather want "pass" in someone to do those long passes you inevitably will have to make.
And a catcher will "steal" all the SPPs from your linemen. They need as many points as they can have, so wait with your catchers.

So, Thrower first, then a RR, then start getting catchers... Unless someone dies, of course. But let´s hope this won´t happen!

I'd get a catcher first. You can get by without throwers early in your team's life. You're better off rotating linemen through the fullback position and spreading your SPPs around. Get a couple of quick TDs in with a reciever and get him block and you've got a handy player. 2 of those with passblock are good defensive players. Throwers can safely be bought later once your linemen have skilled up a bit.

Well, Marcus, do you really think it´s catchers first, then throwers? I mean, I get the point of scoring SPPs through passes, BUT: What if you need to get a long pass/bomb on target for a TD? I´d rather have a "skilled" thrower who can at least reroll if he failed first time.

SPPs are easier accumulated by doing a TD, don´t you agree? And even though a catcher with pass block is profitable for your defense, won´t he also be sucking those SPPs? Shouldn´t you give your linos those opportunities?

Then again, who am I to criticize Da Tulip Champ?

Catchers are all 'round more useful than throwers. Dodge, Catch and obscene speed. MV9 wins games. Occassionally you need to throw a long bomb with humans or skaven but with woodelves you have the speed and agility to use short passes and handoffs, a thrower just isn't that essential.

Yeah, alright mate, we're voicing opinions here. I'd rather use a catcher, for reasons stated. Your mileage may vary.

With the wood elves basic high speed i really dont see as much need for long throws. In 3rd my skinks rarely threw more than a short pass.
