Before I comment on the HGC BloodBowl, I want to thank everyone for the kind comments. You guys kick the back half of a bull centaur. Plus a big shout out to Paul, Bryan, and Craig. They were great guests! Wasn't it great seeing xtreme as the main guy! And HUGE props to Tom. The halfling episode was tops because of him. Only two more weeks for that episode.

Also a big thanks to Loaf for the Twitter recap. If you have a chance, check it out.

I really enjoy playing the Slann. They are the team for me. Relentless and pass happy. Also I can play them and not get chastised for my love of rerolls! :) Even though the final score didn't look close, the chaos dwarves were always in it. Without an answer to the wrestle stripball, they had a hard time advancing the ball. But they had a well timed interception that kept them in it. I will say my sure hands catcher with hail mary pass was a thing of beauty. Lando Croakribbitson is a smooth talking gambler. The overall casualties will set the team back a little, but the frogs are resilient. Out casualtied 3-17 in the last three play off games will set back many teams. Can wait for next season to rebuild. Go Slann!

And yes...I will be insufferable...and continue to try to make other teams into the Slann! :) OK maybe I can be talked out of the last part.

Another great podcast, alot of good pointers for flings.

Quick question, you ask to leave feedback on iTunes, how do you actually do this, is it just giving the podcast a 5-star rating of is there some other form of feedback?

You can give a written rating. If you go to the iTunes Store section (with the reviews) there's a link right under "Customer Reviews" that says "write a review". :)

New episode is up - the guys welcome back Tom Anders (Galakstarscraper) to dicuss Halflings!

Please leave a positive review in iTunes. I know they are excited by the high number of downloads every month and it really does help to leave a positive review in iTunes. :)

Assuming some of us are old and stupid (yes for me for both when it comes to Twitter, Facebook and i(anything)).

Tell me in simple old man words how to go about finding ThreeDiceBlock at iTunes to leave a positive review and I'll do so.

Also ... what is the link to the forums they talk about for 3DB on the podcast ... I cannot find them (and I normally don't have trouble finding forums).

Galak

P.S. ... Pauly and Chance are great guys to interview with ... big fan of their podcast.

OK, I've fallen into your cunning trap to promote 3DB further:

In iTunes, click on the iTunes Store. Then, in the Search Store field, search for 'Blood Bowl'. Refine your search to just Podcasts, and you should find Tackle Zone Radio, Three Die Block, Zlurpcast and a few other who have mentioned Blood Bowl in their shows before. Click on 3DB, scroll down past the episode listings to 'Rate this podcast'.

Once you're able to spell 'Pseudo' (Google helped me with that one) you can find the forums via pseudoradio.blogspot.com, or go straight to them via
this link.

Didn't work ... do I actually have to have iTunes on my computer for it to work?

I would think so Tom, though I recommend not installing that virus on your computer (unless you have a mac where it apparently works really well).

I would assume you need an iTunes account and the software to leave a review.

If you can leave one, they would really appreciate it! The download numbers have been great, but the more that find the podcast, the better!

The 3DB forums are at http://www.pseudoradio.blogspot.com

We're working on a website for our local leagues as well (using the bloodbowlleague.com hosting). I just need to get it completely set up and pay the owner/creator. :)

I finished the Halflings episode and GalakStarscraper brought his A game yet again. I've already listened to the Slann episode numerous times - I'm sure I'll enjoy this one again! I especially enjoy the history lessons we get. For those of us new to Blood Bowl, it's just as interesting as the excellent advice. THANK YOU!

Yes, that's also true. By 'in iTunes', I meant the program itself, rather than on the website.

Apple are the largest software developer for Windows purely because of iTunes :D

As for the Halfling-based podcast, my eyes have been well and truly opened. I've always run with two trees and as many 'flings as I can fit in the reserves box along with the Apothecary and Master Chef (who was given the 50k cost in the last league I used them in, which really helped). I had wondered why the cost had been doubled, but the lack of Loner on the Treemen really does make sense.

Perhaps when the Jiggly Jaguars get re-booted as Monty's Pie-a-thon Flying Circus, they'll be bringing Deeproot along for the ride every game, as inspired by the Iron Chefs. Halflings are a brilliant team to play, I've found, and the comedy and thematic ideas behind them also teach you that losing is just as fun as winning: absolutely anything positive you do with them (Wins, TDs, Casualties, insane dodging plays) is a huge bonus, even when it doesn't quite come off. Thanks for covering one of my favourites, guys :)

its always great to set a forrest up on the line 2 trees and deeproot is hard for most teams to deal with especially the grinders as prooved by my 100% win record against dwarf with them 5/0/0 :D including a very close to pitch clearance (just ask wilburS) just that last damn slayer wouldn't leave the field.

and the bustt thing in the uk about playing flings at a tourney for sure is watching your opponent age 10 years when you get them out just incase they suffer an embarrasing loss

I think Bertha got a bit dissed myself...playing against her in the hands of Sann at Waterbowl (with my Necros having only my Leader reroll) was a right PITA. I had a cage all set up and in came Battling Bertha....

Hey 3DB,

I was wondering your opinions on starting leagues with Team Values higher than 1mil. In the last few Leagues I've played, and one I'm in the process of forming at the moment, we've been using 1.1mil gold pieces to start our teams with.

It enables most teams to have more than 11 players on the pitch (and, omg, Pauly could easily have at least 4 re-rolls and an Apothecary with every single team!) in case of a serious injury or two in the first couple of matches. This helps teams such as the various sorts of Elves, in particular, as often they can't afford even a lineman after their first game.

Do you think free Journeymen - when you have less than 11 players - make higher starting value teams irrelevant? Does it overpower teams who can now fit all their expensive position players in?

Not quite a Star-Push-Skull, but your thoughts would be interesting to hear!

EDIT: I have, of course, e-mailed this question over!
