The first Blood Bowl field I made (in 2008)... it's a Beach Blood Bowl one inspired by the volleyball's fields you can see on all beaches around the world... put the beach boys song "Surfin' USA" on and have a look here ...

Awesome. If I ever make a pitch for the Sandy Ancient Rechargers, I'll totally use that!

Now thatt I've seen the beach ppitch there's no way I'm showing you the cave/mine pitch I'm doing for my dwarves. It would be like comparing a 5-year old's finger painting to a master piece. Great job on the sandy beach pitch, looks awesome. Maybe my 10th pitch will be able to compete... if I ever get my first one finished. :P

Sure thing. The vast majority of the stadium was made out of rigid insulation (pink foam) because it is very easy to score, cut, and carve. The floors of the dugouts and the turn/reroll rows are examples of this. I drew the tiled grid on the board with a marker, then I lightly scored (free hand for a more used look) each joint with an x-acto blade at an angle in both directions...basically make a V cut in the foam. After peeling out all of the trimmings I rolled a rock acros the surface to beat it up a bit. The most important part about using the foam is to make sure that you don't use spray paint as it will eat it. You can actually get around this by base coating the entire thing with a latex paint first (which i recommend doing anyway) but make sure that you put on a good layer of it. If there are any gaps in the paint then the spray will find it's way in and eat your foam. (This actually makes for a pretty cool effect if you plan it that way) To finish the turn/reroll rows I simply glued on some plastic numbers. I found packages of them at my local Hobby Lobby and were intended for being used with do-it-yourself clock kits. The one design flaw with the numbers is that your turn a reroll markers have GOT to be mounted on plastic bases WITHOUT slots. The slot hinders the marker from sitting over the number because it projects instead of being recessed. Non-slotted based fit perfectly over mine though. Just something to keep in mind before glueing on numbers.

Thanks for the advice- especially with the latex paint. At the moment I plan a dwarven stadium and I also will use foam for that. :)

I have to get into making a stadium now. Damn I wish I had the time and money right now. Makes me hate college SO much. There are so many good ones. The wooden Board makes me want to make an abstract version of the pieces and play it like chess. Make wooden dice and everything.
So many good ones I would do them justice by commenting them individually.
I have an Idea for the Skaven team that would be awesome. Though I don't know how close it would be to the actual story line of BB. I would love to see my vision in 3D.
