1040k Amazons vs. 1180k Norse
We're early in the league - only the 3rd game of the season.
My Amazons are a typical build:
4x Blitzer - 1 w/guard
7x linewomen - 1w/block
1x thrower
3RR, + apothecary, 100k banked
The Norse team is 12 players, too:
1x Thrower
1x Catcher
2x blitzer - 1 w/guard
1x Norse werewolf
6x linemen - 1 w/tackle
1x yhetee
3RR, + apothecary, 10k banked
I'm not really worried about the yhetee since claw doesn't hurt AV7 and it's a wild animal loner w/o block or MB.
Since I'm getting 140k inducements, I was thinking about inducing Helmut for 110k. Figured that would work well vs. AV7. But I was also considering adding 10k of my own cash and getting a wizard. A fireball vs. an AV7 cage is tempting.
Or I could just buy a couple more people for my roster and try to win the attrition battle.
What do you think?

Inducements don't work that way according to the rule book, if you throw in 10K your team Value goes up by 10 giving you only 130K in inducements. IMO chainsaws are over rated and I don't buy them often, I love the 100K cards and have had some great results with them, I think if I were you I'd think about an extra line woman or two and play him straight up. With only one tackle I think you should be ok all things being the same.S.

A chainsaw can work if you think the Norse player can be intimidated. But like Blam said, Chainsaw's are usually overrated when used against a coach who doesn't panic.
At AV7, 2xBloodweiser Babes are never a bad idea. Take the babes, kick to him and if the worst case happens and he scores on turn 8, you have two shots at making good KO rolls to outnumber him in the second half. Ideally, you turn him over and can then ice the game on your second half drive.

Thanks for clarifying the inducements - been playing that one wrong.
I may have to split the difference and go one lino and one BWB.
Thanks guys!

I'd hire a Catcher and take a 50k card.
Catchers are great because you can give them Side Step on a normal roll.

I've never had much luck w/cards. Which deck do you like for 50k?

I just figure if you have 13 mostly-interchangeable players with universal Dodge, the one Babe doesn't look so hot. If you didn't have 70k+ in the bank and 120k+ in underdog, I'd have recommended perhaps two Babes or a Wandering Apoth. But with 13 and an Apoth, don't worry too much. Just hit back!
The reason I didn't recommend a deck is that I haven't had much luck with cards either. But that's sample size, as I play in a lot of fixed seasons and am usually the overdog (or have a specific inducement track, as with Halflings), so I believe none of it. As far as use against me, I'd say Dirty Tricks annoy me the most. It's best to draw three of them as a sort of backup Wizard, but just one is no more or less of a gamble than one Babe. Having a card and holding it back makes your opponent assume the worst, and is good if you need pressure or if you want to make him play conservatively. There are a few great cagebreakers in that deck, and it could provide you with a key edge in a game between two similar teams.

Figured I'd leave an update!
I bought a catcher and then induced a card (pie in the face) from the dirty tricks deck. After some poor rolling and going down 0-2 by the half, I turned it around and salvaged a 2-2 tie with no injuries except a MNG on the new catcher.
I’ll take it!
Thanks all!
