Rerolling a foul

Post by Superdidi »

Howdy Sportsfans!

I have an urgent rulesquestion. I hope someone out there can help me.

I am fouling an opposing player. The foul is successfull. The referee has spotted the foul, fouler is sent off. Injury Roll =9 KO. Argue the call fails.

May I reroll a foul?
If yes, wenn exactly may I reroll it?
Only directly after the foul?
Or may I wait until it is successfull (and if not reroll the whole foul? I know I can't reroll the injury-roll alone)?
Or can I wait until the referee spots the foul?
Maybe even wait until Arguing the call fails (hopefully not!) and then reroll the foul?

I would be very glad if someone could help me.
May all your dice-rolls be pows.

I think the part of the book that says "you may not use a reroll on an armor or injury roll" includes fouls. So therefore you may not reroll fouls in lrb rules at any time.

if you disagree with this interpretation, I would still contend that any referee action would be a seperate roll, and would therefore be after said reroll attempt (and therefore only rolled 1 time regardless)

You can never reroll a foul.

What rule set are you using? It looks like you're using 4th ed. The fouler gets spotted on a doubles foul roll. You get sent off but, since it affects your player you think you should be able to re-roll it. Is this right?

If you're using the IGMEOY, I don't see how you can justify trying to re-roll the foul. It doesn't affect your player and it is an Armor roll which may not be Re-Rolled.

Guess I just don't really understand the question.

I'm wondering, are you German? There are some cues in your post pointing that way, but i can't be sure. Either that or you're French and your name is Didier, but your English is too good for a French!

And i'll reiterate Snotsgrots' question, are you using the 4th ed rules?

You cannot use re-rolls to influence "off the pitch" events - so this means you can't re-roll Argue the call, your apothecary can't use them, you can't re-roll a result on the kick off table/match winnings etc.

Although these situations are not explicitly covered by the book, we use the approach that only actions on the pitch can be affected - after all, they are supposed to represent a trained team, rather than "almighty intervention"!

Just to stray from the initial topic (and to raise my overall posts)

As you cannot know, in German "Didi" can be used as a (rather silly) abbreviation for "Dieter". Actually, no Dieter I knew wanted to be called like that, so far.

But do mind Didi Hammerslash!

Yes I am from germany. Sorry that my english is not very good but I try my best to keep it understandable.
My name is not Dieter (Hammerslash  ), it's Dietram. An very very unusual name in germany. Noone could remember it very well and so I got used to be called Didi.

I am playing PbeM Blood Bowl with a few friens. We do not have a website yet, but I hope I get one done in the future.
We are playing plain LRB 2.0 rules.
Most of them are beginners. But its a lot of fun.

You're not asking what told of your German origin? I'll tell you anyway. The fact that you tend to join words together was a big part of it. The wenn just confirmed it for me.

Your English is actually pretty good.
