Spiky Open - One Day

Post by Long_Bomb »

We have discussed having a one day-event at the Spiky Club for about the last six months and with the Spiky Open out of the way I thought it was time we did some work on it.

Voted 1 day 4 games, not worth coming all the way down for 3 games

I'd agree with Valen, plus 3 games isn't really enough to decide the winner, depending on turnout you could easily have 2 or more players with 100% records. I know this could happen with four games but the extra game helps a lot.

Unfortunalty i think travel times ruin the chances of most of us attending one day events. For me its over 3 hours each way and just isnt worth it. Im sure a lot of people have the same problem.
It reall depends on forum interest and local players IMHO. :(

Four games would be good, although sevens or perhaps streetball would be fun too.

I think 4 games is doable in that Reading is pretty easy to reach from Manchester/Birmingham/London. Three is enough though.

well here in bristol we are looking into a 1 day Bllod Bowl open league fornat, so hopefully we can get the numbers too..

Reading is like, 1hr 20mins at 30 odd pounds two and from, so if this does happen, and its sensible priced, I would try and organise a party over for the day?

I voted for 5 games of BB Sevens although I'd give serious consideration to the 4 Game Swiss. Three games wouldn't be worth the travelling. Mr Brownesquire's Streetbowl idea could be a fun option too.

Thanks for all the feedback and suggestions guys. It has really helped me get an idea of what people are interested in. I suspect the next challenge will be finding a suitable date.

Interested in this as 2 day tournies are a little hard to attend nowadays.
