Which first double skill on a Troll Slayer?
The Troll Slayer first skill on a double should be? The second and third planned skills are MB and Tackle.
Thanks all....

I would say dodge first, get that blodge going so you don't get caught out by your low movement. It really helps you stay mobile.

Sidestep goes well with frenzy. You can surf people without having to worry so much about getting surfed yourself.

It also deters people from blocking him, and makes it easier for him to get counterblocks and set up assists for his Frenzy hits. Not to mention, the more Side Step you take, the less investment you need in Stand Firm. Also, the more MA5 you put on the wings (where SS/AV8 is at its best), the more you can channel your MA4 into the interior, where it has a better shot to stay in position.

Side Step for the double!
If next is "normal" get Fend. Thats not what you expect on a slayer, BUT it gives you potential blocking without having a "guard" player next to you. And it prevents opponents Frenzy players to get that extra block.
Mighty Blow and Tackle will come, but it's not always necessary to use the slayers as "hitmans"

I think you should get Mighty Blow next. You need to win the numbers game in the second half, and Slayers like blocking expensive guys. If you were considering Tackle, don't. You've got Longbeards for that.

Funny..i expected that mostly all will go for the (Jump up+MB+Pile On)-combo and atm u mostly suggest (Side Step+MB+XXX).
Fend + Side Step sounds nasty, the attacker can't follow but i am able to stay near by him to reblock him with Side Step right?

Correct. Unless you're wanting to get away to smack someone else, of course.pauli42 wrote:Fend + Side Step sounds nasty, the attacker can't follow but i am able to stay near by him to reblock him with Side Step right?
Dodge is an all-round good choice with many options afterwards, Side-Step makes him more mobile and annoying, with various routes to follow from there, and Jump Up deliberately takes him down the PO, MB path. Depends what you want him to do, I guess.

Re: Which first double skill on a Troll Slayer?
I think Dodge on and AG2 piece is suboptimal since you can't rely on the actual dodging aspect of the skill. I really like the Side-step+Fend combo but then again, JU and Piling On go well together too.
Maybe league lenght should be considered here as well. JU will really start to shine once you get PO, but that's a long way off since MB is still a better second skill pick. Side Step will be useful right away.

Re: Which first double skill on a Troll Slayer?
I'd say it's less about actual dodging and more about avoiding Defender Stumbles results... without tackle, you've only got a 1/6 chance per block die to actually get that blodger on the floor. Admittedly you're only making use of Dodge on your opponent's turn, but MB and PO only work on your turn. Jump-Up of course works both for when you've been hit, and then again when you Pile On.Ullis wrote:I think Dodge on and AG2 piece is suboptimal since you can't rely on the actual dodging aspect of the skill.

if your oppnents aren't too clever about the sideline I'd go with sidestep, otherwise dodge.

Re: Which first double skill on a Troll Slayer?
I would go with Jump Up, keeping your Slayer mobile. You can substitute Side Step with Stand Firm on a next normal skill. So you´ll get the best of both worlds.
Best Regards.
