Secret Weapons?
Ok I've done a pretty good job self teaching myself the game with a little help from you guys (thanks to all who have answered my questions)
The one thing the competition rules does not explain is secret weapons? All it says is that it's a skill and some people have a secret weapon that if they use will cause them to be kicked out of the game?
I have no understanding of secret weapons. Can anyone give me the lowdown? I did try searching...
Thanks again!

Re: Secret Weapons?
Go to the skill section and read on:
Secret Weapon (Extraordinary)
Some players are armed with special pieces of equipment that are called
!secret weapons." Although the Blood Bowl rules specifically ban the use
of any weapons, the game has a long history of teams trying to get
weapons of some sort onto the pitch. Nonetheless, the use of secret
weapons is simply not legal, and referees have a nasty habit of sending
off players that use them. Once a drive ends that this player has played
in at any point, the referee orders the player to be sent off to the dungeon
to join players that have been caught committing fouls during the match,
regardless of whether the player is still on the pitch or not.
Now in itself that's not a benefit, only a problem so I guess the next question is what's the benefit?
To get what a secret weapon do you have to look for the player stats. There are only 2 categories of player who use secret weapons:
- Star Players, found at the end of the book,
- 3 Goblin Players and 1 Dwarf Player:

- Goblin - Bombardier, the little git lights up bombs and throws them on the pitch, read the Bombardier skill to understand how to play this
- Goblin - Looney the mad goblin brings a chainsaw to the pitch. Read the Chainsaw Skill.
- Goblin - Fanatic the mushroom induce trance goblin has amazing ST and the Ball & chain skill.

Re: Secret Weapons?
So secret weapon guys are thrown out of the game automatically (no rolling) immediately after the first touchdown by either side?
It says after 'drive ends'. Wouldnt that happen on a turnover?
If it's 0-0 are they thrown out at halftime?
Thx

If you can use the electronic version (as opposed to the paper one) and use the search function:sayguh wrote:It says after 'drive ends'. Wouldnt that happen on a turnover?

Re: Secret Weapons?
Alright so secret weapon players are never in the second half unless ref is bribed. Got it.
Oh unless you keep them in reserve until the second half.
Ok, cool I got it now thanks

Re: Secret Weapons?
no worries. Now the next step in understanding Secret Weapons is to get when to play them.
Also remember that you HAVE to field all your players (up to 11) on the field, so if a drive start on turn 8 and you have 3 KO, you might have to field your deathroller for just 1 turn and it's the end of the drive.

Re: Secret Weapons?
Induce bribes if at all possible with secret weapons. I've always been of the opinion to start right off with them. Cause as much damage as you possibly can from turn 1...this is even better if you can take the ball in the first half because you can maximize control of how long your secret weapon is on the field decimating your opponent. If you've got at least one bribe then you can plan on an 83% chance of keeping them in for another drive.
