So, uh, when's the next one going up?

They release every other monday. One of the better podcasts regarding regularity (and I bet it's Craig we have to thank rather than the two follicly challenged fools we listen to :p )

Ah-ha. It's up.

One thing I would have liked to cover better is tempo. My idea, that I don't think I conveyed right, was:

1) If you kick first, try to take away and score as fast as possible. If you've done it once, you can do it again. And besides, 1-1 at halftime, receiving, is better than 0-0 at halftime, and that's a success in my book. If you have a lead at halftime, you should try to score in 3-4 turns in the second half. 5-6 turns with a 2-score deficit is pretty much impossible, so you'll face a hurry-up offense or a demoralized opponent. They can go into kill mode ... but ... you're Orcs.

2) If you receive first, do an 8-turn grind. This doesn't have to be an OSPT, and doesn't have to take all 8 turns if your Cas machine is really going. If, say, you knock out a Dwarf Runner and both Blitzers in your first quarter of offense, score at will. Likewise, if your opponent has a reliable 1TTD mechanism, like a Skaven thing. But if your oppo has a good offense that can't reliably 1TTD, hold on for eight.

I don't want to say, "you should always hurry on O with Orcs." That wasn't my intent.

I really enjoyed hearing mattgslater's thoughts on positioning and playing defence.

It helped crystallise some of the things I'd been reading, and I was able to apply some of those lessons recently to help me against opponents I'd been struggling with.
