Team Style Groups

Post by Skarsnikk »

Hi all,

Not sure if this has been done before but i cant find anything in a search. I've been having a discussion in my league about which teams can be classed as bashy and agility etc and I was surprised by the variety of responses, So I thought i'd put the question out to you lot to see what you thought.

Please put the races into one of the following catergories Bashy, Hybrid and Agility. Base this on whatever reasoning you believe to be correct, be it play style, abilities or roster strength.

Bashy
Orc
Ogre
Chaos
Nurgle
Dwarf
Chaos Dwarf
Undead
Khemri
Norse

Hybrid
Necromantic
Human
Amazon
Vampire
Lizardmen

Agility
Wood elf
High Elf
Elf
Skaven

For now I shall be a proud and mentally impaired player who apparently shares the same intelligence level of that of a chimp. Now if you would excuse me I have pressing matters to attend to, I have found a stick and I am going to poke a banana.

To repeat my response from the thread he linked.

-you need another catagory "low tier". You don't have halflings or gobbos in your list, so you're already starting to think in those terms. However Ogres, Vamps, probably underworld and maybe even Khemri go there as well. These teams play very differently than the others. Their only common traits are crazy stuff and losing.

Also Undead and Norse are hybrid. The telling thing in my opinion is the skillsets for the players. The true bashy teams have no agility positionals on their main players, and no GA players period.

While initially Undead and Norse can bash it up just fine, probably better than Chaos, as a league goes on having av7 players, agility positionals, and a comparative shortage of strength positionals becomes telling. At that point the playstyles of those teams diverge from what you can do with the true bashers. Also their relative efficacy goes down, but that's a different discussion.

Your dark elves are a basher team...

Which I guess illustrates that after long enough if you can keep them alive you'll build up enough doubles and stat increases to dramatically alter what a team can do. Which does keep BB interesting compared to a lot of wargames.

That said your Norse team seems to have trouble with the non chaos bash teams going 2/2/2 against CD, Orc, and Dwarf

Also the Chaos builds in your league look to have a weak spot for Norse, in that they're spamming claw and tackle which Norse mostly ignore.
