High Elf Catcher with ST 3?

I was browsing the Team rosters in the LRB and noticed that the High Elf Catcher (Lion Warrior) has ST 3, contrary to my belief that catchers usualy have only ST 2 (except for Norse and amazon, but they are slow anyway). Initially I thought of a typo but looking up other sources, I came to the conclusion that this was intented and not a misprint.
I'm confused og this, bc I always thought of catchers being fast, agile but fragile - even more if it's an Elf. What's the reason to give one of the most agile/passing team in BB a ST 3 catcher?

They have always had st3, its to make them different to other teams. If he had st2 he would just be a slower wood elf catcher. The only difference to a human catcher is the swap of +1 ag to dodge. Variety is the spice of life.

It think it fits well that the best passing team has the best throwers and the best catchers. This to me is reason enough for the ST3.

They've been like that since 3rd ed came out in 94, so it's nothing new (except that they now get 4 of them).

Oh yes,
I still have some 2nd ed. junk heaps floating in my head. I used to belong to the minority that still played 2nd ed. in the new millenium.
Old habbits are hard to change, but the LRB is IMHO the best BB ever.

I'd say that having ST3 makes up for not having Dodge.

If I could choose, I would give all my catchers (regardless of race) ST3 instead of dodge. It far easier for a catcher to get dodge as to get an Strength increase, furthermore catcher will score easier if they do not get mashed around by every normal linemen in the opponent's half. I think ST+1 for dodge is a very, very good trade off, as you will get dodge in one ore two matches anyway. And you catcher will survive long enough with ST3, too.

Of course the other thing is that Lion Warriors are more frequently called into blitzing duties... humans get 4 blitzers, while high elves only 2, so LWs have to help out.

Id argue that the Lion Warrior is the best Blitzer in the game. He just happens to have Catch as well. Damn I hate those guys.

The wardancer has exactly the same stats, but block, dodge, leap. There's no way you can say that high elf catchers are the best blitzers.

The best blitzers are wardancers and bull centaurs, in whatever order you prefer. But then, they're also the most expensive, so that's to be expected.

I'm a big fan of using witch elves as blitzers...they're better blitzers than DE "Blitzers" once they skill up a little. Block and Tackle (or Dless with doubles!) and they're NASTY little beotches.

Yeah, witch elves would be thrid in my list, and i guess that either troll slayers or norse blitzers would be next.
