Your breakable and so need at least 13 and probably 14 players.

If you cannot stall out for an 8 turn drive to score with dwarves then you need to go and play canasta with your dad..if you can find him.

I don't think that argument really counts much either way. Amazons need 13-14 players and an Apothecary!

13 players, an Apothecary, 3 TRRs and a full suite of positionals is only 1.09M. If you're not running away on skills, you should quickly be in a place to induce Willow almost every game, and maybe even deny Deeproot to the Halflings. Willow is awesomeness (not Deeproot awesome, but awesome).

I have all positionalls with additional linewomen bringing the team to 13 players (with this purchase) 4 re-rolls and an apothecary.

Great. You're there. Just bank bank bank. Maybe hire one more player if you're already a major underdog and you prefer 14 and a Wizard to 13, Willow and 50k.

Do you mean getting a wizard and willow out of petty cash?

No. I mean, with 1.14M peak cost (((13 players +4 TRRs +1 Apoth)x50k) + ((4x4 Blitzers)+(2x4 Catchers))x10k), unless you're winning and staying healthy you'll frequently find yourself to be a 100k-200k underdog after your opponents peak out, because they have more to buy. Exceptions are the short races (normal Dwarfs, Gobs, Halflings, Underworld). If you're doing great, you'll make it up and inducements will be a non-factor. In that case, take an extra lino. But if you're in the pack, you'll frequently have Willow on your side.

Oh I see :) induce them. Are they more important than a wondering apothecary?
There looks to be a lot of norse in the next league.

Not better by enough to manipulate your TV, but better by enough to take them over the Apoth if you've got the handicap to spare. Norse are particularly vulnerable to the inverted wing defense, and Willow is the best noseguard to be found in that case. It's also really nice to be able to blitz with ST4; the ubiquitous Norse Block doesn't hurt Willow's odds, as she doesn't have Block. Norse also hate fireballs.

Inverted wing defense?

Also have to agree on the fireball thing. Kerploom! (Though it does work the other way around too.

Yeah, the wingers in front of the flankers, with SS/Block Catchers in the WZs and Willow on the nose.

Its going to take a little work to get up to SS block catchers but that does sound like a solid formation.

As a development question is sure hands a decent choice on anyone but the throwers? With such short lives it doesn't seem to be worth the spp and team with re rolls being so cheap.

Agreed. Sure Hands is the #1 skill for a Thrower, and on the track for the other one. Nobody else need bother.

Just played my second game, I won 4-0 to a rookie norse coach.
Got block on a catcher, sidestep on a blitzer and block on a linewoman.
Unfortunatly my catcher and guard blitzer were injured...the catcher just misses the next game but the blitzer is now AV6 :( I was awarded 80k for the match (the 2d6 1d8 money system) do I replace her or wait for her to kick the bucket naturaly?

Replace. That's what the cash is for.

If I understand properly that you have 80k in the bank right now and have to go without for a game, see what happens next game.
