Trolls in Goblin Teams

Post by Ork Dreadnought »

Yes, I did read the first topic, so I'm sorry if I'm breaking the rules.
On a lighter note, hello to the regulars.

My local store is starting up a tornament, so I'm digging out my old gobbo team. So, under the living rule book, which is the most sensible choice for a gobbo team, your basic troll or the star player?

Well the basic ogre will be better than the basic troll and ripper bolgrot is better still. Thats assuming other people are taking star players as well, having a st6 player would be nice. Maybe you can afford both ;]

Agreed since rookie Ogre only cost 120k for stunty teams until October (at which point Jervis says they'll be officially up to 240k or eliminated as an option) ... I'd grab Ripper and a rookie Ogre for the team.

Are you going to have to freeboot Stars?

Since he said tournament not league play, I assume this is the fairly standard rule being used that Stars cost full value and the roster resets at the end of each game.

Actually I am required to freeboot stars, it's the only definate at the moment. Assuming a league, would it be realistic to expect the capita for a star player, what 70K a game? Looks doubtful to me. The Roster looks like this at the moment

12 Gobs
1 Troll
Apothecary
5 RR
rest on fan factor (7 I think)

You can have two rookie trolls (or ogres) AND freeboot Ripper. Only freeboot him in the playoffs though, it's not worth it otherwise (except of course if it's the last game of the season and you absolutely need a win to be in the playoffs).
