Troll Slayer Doubles: Side Step or Stand Firm?
Alright, pretty much all I use my Slayers for is pounding on Big Guys and pushing people off of the board. Well, I got doubles, but I was wondering: What would be better for sideline protection: Stand Firm or SideStep? With Stand Firm, I can attempt to dodge out to get some additional pushouts, and if I fail, nothing bad happens. But with Sidestep, I can move my player around and get off of the sidelines easily, unless all adjacent squares are occupied (a hard thing to do IMO, just to get one guy off of the field). Additionally, I rarely leave my slayers alone, I usually keep a Longbeard next to him with Guard to avoid anyone picking on them.
What do you suggest is the better skill?

Sidestep- Never really used it. Once but that was a long time ago and I needed the money.
Stand Firm- I use this for guys on the defensive line and I usually don't put troll slayers on the line on defense. I give stand firm to my longbeards.
Either of those is good, though.
Other thoughts...
Dodge- You can't ever rule out the strength of BLODGE. Play a grown up Amazon team and you'll see what I mean. Also with AV 8 and the hatred of most of the league you want these guys on their feet!
Diving Tackle- Troll Slayers don't start with tackle. Diving Tackle can give them that little anti-elf edge that the longbeards enjoy so much.
Sprint- 2 GFI's just to blitz that guy and you get a push back? No prob dude, use sprint to throw that frenzy!
Me? I'd probably go with dodge if I felt conservative and Stand Firm if I felt saucy.

In all seriousness, I'd go for dodge on a double (blodging slayers [shivers]). Had one in our league, and always seemed to stay on his feet. When I finally got him down I fouled him out, cos everyone was fed up with him.
Of the 2 optons listed, I'd go for stand firm.

I went for Stand Firm on mine. The fear of him sending someone crowdsurfing and then been pushed out himself was not one I liked. Dodge is the choice if you are willing to run the sideline risk though. Certainly the choice if I get another doubles roll on the same slayer.
Stand Firm has also paid itself off but not allowing my slayer to be shoved away, keeping his tackle zone where I wanted it (My Slayers play as Defensive Ends.)
SideStep is irritating but not quite as versatile. It really needs Dodge to make it a true irritant.
