BBMag #5 Secret Weapons
As far as Goblin secret weapons go, can they be used on Chaos Pact and Orc teams? Or, are the Goblin secret weapons exclusive to Goblin rosters.

Actually I cannot remember whether I talked to JKL or not, but I think its entirely reasonable to say that the fact that the team has access does not extend to the Big Guys the team is allowed to have.darthnoir wrote:A few coaches in my league have tried a few games with these new rules, and found a concern with them. A Rat Ogre armed with a Poisoned Dagger has a "way out" of a bad block situation due to Wild Animal. We've house ruled that Big Guys can not have Secret Weapons.
IE ... when my league adopts these rules next season (2 1/2 months from now) ... Big Guys will not be able to get Secret Weapons only rostered players.
In addition, we plan on using JKL's suggestion above for the Chaos Pact, Old World, and Lustrian. The player can have the weapon if he could have it on his normal race's team.

Then you've mis-read the rules. Big Guys are not on the rosters of these teams, so they are NOT allowed to use secret weapons.darthnoir wrote:A few coaches in my league have tried a few games with these new rules, and found a concern with them. Posted a list of extra teams that Neo said sounded reasonable. Neo tried to only use past and present BB figs when the list for the teams was made.gallowin wrote:What's the rationale in only the old teams being allowed secret weapons?
I figured to see a Norse Chainsaw or Skink Poison Dagger.
The expanded list was:
Ball and Chain: Skaven
Chainsaw: Amazon, Khemri, Necromantic, Norse, Nurgle's Rotters
Poisoned Dagger: Amazon, Chaos Dwarf, Human, Lizardmen

I haven't got the magazine in my hands (and I doubt I can get it here in Galicia), but I thougth that Dwarfs already were allowed to use the Blundberbuss (you know, the Barik Farblast figure).
Oh, and the jezzail should be removed from the Skaven roster anyway. It's another extra bonus they don't need.

I'd have to agree with this. Too much speed really to allow the team the weapon.Sushé Wakka wrote:I haven't got the magazine in my hands (and I doubt I can get it here in Galicia), but I thougth that Dwarfs already were allowed to use the Blundberbuss (you know, the Barik Farblast figure).

So can Goblins on Orc teams take Bombs, Pogo Sticks etc. or not?
Can Hobgoblins take weapons available to the Chaos Dwarf race?
What about Bull Centaurs and Black Orcs?
Also, why does the Pogo Stick remove all racial characteristics? I'm guessing it's to take away right stuff.
Should the Deathroller also add Stand firm?

Hobgoblins can have any weapon the Chaos Dwarf team is allowed.
Bull Centaurs can have CD weapons.
Black Orcs can have Orc weapons.
Yes to the answer on the Pogo Stick.
Yes on the Deathroller for Stand Firm also (IMO)

So really, where the article says race it would be clearer to say team.
The reason I ask about the Pogo Stick is that it also removes stunty, allowing the player to throw the ball properly and avoid the injury modifier. As the rules for stunty already say how it works when carrying a weapon, shouldn't the Pogo Stick just remove right stuff?

Yup, I'd have to agree that that is a good catch.Stu wrote:So really, where the article says race it would be clearer to say team.

Hold on; the Orc team can freeboot Scrappa Sorehead (the pogo sticker). Shouldn't Goblins in the Orc roster be allowed to equip pogo sticks as well?
I think it would be better if there were listed players that can get the weapon instead of teams (I mean, Blunderbusses are supposed to be carried by Chaos Dwarf Blockers, and Trollslayers shouldn't drive a Deathroller - I know that the last one is a bad example, but I hope my point is made clear).
