Kick Off Sequence

Post by gallowin »

Recently we've noted that we're playing the Kick Off Sequence incorrectly. Per the LRB 2.0 page 19:
1. Place ball on pitch
2. Roll on kick-off table
3. Scatter ball
4. Resolve kick-off results
5. Bounce ball

We've been resolving before scattering the ball. This brought up several questions which I emailed fanatic about and got answers. I was curious how other leagues played it?

If the Kick Off result is Blitz or Quick Snap, can someone move under the ball after it's been scattered to attempt to catch the ball? What if on a Blitz a result of Block pushes you under where the ball is about to bounce?

We play according to the LRB.

So if you end up under the ball you get a catch attempt before the ball scatters. This does not allow you (on a blitz) to catch the ball and carry on moving.
